@ArtAutonomy Gonna guess that people who pick mushrooms don't want to associate with a person that believes all wild spaces should be sold to mining companies and bulldozed.
@manthonyk76 @atrupar If using taxpayer dollars and putting military lives at risk just to hand it over to a corporation counts as "enlightenment", sure.
@SpencerHakimian They should have thought ahead and donated to the inauguration fund. The goal is specifically to crush small business, how it works is a secondary concern.
@typesfast If the goal was re-industrializing, then there would be tax incentives on capital and payroll investment and higher taxes on investment gains and profit. But that's not the goal, the goal is just a way to have higher sales tax without calling it a tax.
@Bradinbemidji1@thejackhopkins Perhaps the real issue is that having police called to your house is very likely to get you killed. Id rather have a pissed off grizzly bear run though my house than a cop.
@MJTruthUltra I think that he wants to bulldoze it and his buddies get rich off the land. Trump does not care about people, he is mentally deficient of empathy. There's no 5d chess here.
@TinaMGLong@ChrisVanHollen Because NOAA takes in taxpayer dollars and delivers a valuable service that pays back the cost many times over. The GOP wants the product to flow directly to corporations so they can then sell it. It's all corporate welfare. Everything that DOGE does to that end.
@EastEndJoe The oligarchy wants to force a scouts case establishing natives (and importantly their land) as under direct jurisdiction, then the land can be sold to non-native oversight corporations that don't need to confirm to regs placed by natives.
@emptywheel A corporation (think black rock or halliburton) will get the contract as a blank check. The goal is always to transfer as much taxpayer money directly into corporations with a little oversight as possible.
@emptywheel Trump wants to get rid of fema because his handlers want to get rid of fema. They want to get rid of fema because it weakens the federal government.
If there's no fema then the plan will be next time there's a disaster there will be open bidding on a contract
@BKLYN999@NoLieWithBTC These review panels result in grants to universities and other public institutions. The University will then license the resulting research to a private company. The program will be reconfigured to just direct that money directly to pharma companies for no return.
