Canadian PM Mark Carney:
Canada expects all parties in the Iran conflict to respect international laws. This means not targeting civilians or civilian infrastructure.
To President @realDonaldTrump,
Don’t do their job for them in one night. For 47 years, the Islamic Republic has tried, and failed, to destroy Iran’s civilization.
Tonight, millions are living in #DigitalBlackoutInIran, cut off from the world, not even knowing if our families are alive.
Don’t take Iran back to the Stone Age. Target the Stone Age mindset, the officials who are hanging innocent protesters in the 21st century.
Iran belongs collectively to all Iranians, a people with 7,000 years of civilization who have spent the last 47 years fighting oppression and destruction. We have spent decades resisting with empty hands or choosing the bitter path of exile.
The infrastructure and power plants of this land belong to the freedom-seeking people of Iran. Threatening to turn Iran into "hell" is exactly what we’ve been fighting against for 47 years

Iran entered the new year with its people cut off from the world for over 500 hours without internet. No connection, no access to information and no voice. Access to information is a basic human right not a privilege.
#DigitalBlackoutIran
For 17 days, 90 million people in Iran have been cut off from the free internet in the middle of a war. Families can’t reach each other and people can’t access reliable information.
We’ve seen this pattern before: when the regime shuts down the internet, something terrible follows.
If you truly care about Iranian lives, speak about the internet blackout in Iran. Their safety depends on it.

In the past few hours, this is the only message I’ve received from Iran. The sender wrote:
“Our connection to the outside world has been completely cut off. Everyone has been warned that anyone who connects to the open internet will be arrested. When the internet is cut, people start losing hope because we have no idea what’s happening outside.
Please be our voice and tell the world that we’ve been taken hostage by them.”
Right now the Islamic Republic has imposed one of the most severe internet shutdowns on 90 million people in Iran. Their lives are at risk.
If you truly care about the people of Iran, amplify their call. Be their voice, not someone speaking in their place

Who decided Abbas Araghchi speaks for Iranians? When did Iranians ask him to represent them?
Iranians don’t need anyone to speak for them. The Islamic Republic must restore internet access so people inside Iran can speak for themselves. Their lives are at risk under this internet blackout.

@elonmusk
Dear Elon,
In these critical days, the people of Iran need internet access. Please help them stay connected as they struggle to reclaim their country from the rule of the mullahs. Stand with the Iranian people. Iran will not forget its friends.
For two weeks, the Islamic Republic has shut down Iran’s internet in the name of “security.” People inside Iran can’t access information, can’t communicate, and can’t even know where danger is during a war.
Only a tiny number still have access through extremely expensive VPNs that most people simply cannot afford.
They asked us to be their voice.
Don’t stay silent. 90 million people need access to the internet. Iranians need a free internet.

In wartime, governments are supposed to protect their citizens by building shelters or at the very least making sure people receive accurate warnings and information.
Instead, the Islamic Republic has cut off internet access inside Iran. People have no way of seeing safety alerts or official warnings, and no way of knowing which areas to avoid to keep themselves safe.

Near-total internet blackout for over a week, leaving millions of civilians in the dark during war. No evacuation warnings, no family contact, no real-time safety information, no reliable news. This isn't just censorship. It is endangering Iranian lives.

People loved it when Carney called Trump “transformational,” a word with multiple meanings that led the U.S. president to hear only what he wanted to hear.
But is that what Carney did to all of us with his Davos speech, too?
In light of his support of the Iran bombings, I’d argue yes:
⚠️تیراندازی از فاصله نزدیک به شهروندان بیدفاع!
Regime forces shoot two unarmed civilians at point-blank range.
Received video with the note: “#Mashhad — Fri, Jan 9.”

⚠️The lifeless face of a 17-year-old #سینا_لواسانی
Received images: “#Sina_Lavasani, killed by regime forces in Rey #Tehran — shot in the back of the head — Fri, Jan 9, two days before his birthday.”
Video shows a birthday cake placed on his grave as his mother mourns.

⚠️ blood and gunshot victims
Received video with the note: “Malekshahr, #Isfahan — Thu, Jan 8. Around 10:30 pm, live rounds were fired from Police Station 20 on Mofatteh St.”
