It’s been over 3 months since the airline credited you for our refund, yet we haven’t received a single cent. Despite countless follow-ups and your repeated false promises, there’s still no action. How much longer are you going to drag this out?
I was hoping to find ‘Veiled Rebecca’ by Giovanni Maria Benzoni, which resides at @sjmhyd in this compilation.
This sculpture made quite an impression on me as a teen & remains a vivid memory. Even whilst admiring Michelangelo’s ‘David’ last month, I looked back to this memory
@Yael_Rice Also reminds me of the relatively recent acquisition of the Howard Hodgkin collection last year, which was previously rejected by Ashmolean on the basis on bad provenance. This collcn is due to be exhibited in 2024. Setting very bad precedents overall.
@Yael_Rice The @ExploreWellcome caption is very misleading indeed. Innuendos might be catchy but spreading misinformation is simply irresponsible. Hope they can add necessary info in comments and do better in the future.

Here's a quick roundup of highlights from research we published in 2022, on capitalism, imperialism, degrowth and decolonization. It's all open-access, and free PDFs are available via the link at the end of the thread. 🧵
@artcrimeprof@metmuseum Saw good provenance info on a lot of the art/artefacts displayed at @museum_folkwang recently along with this priority indicators (ref. image) providing visual clues where necessary with a conflict gradient indicating the broad variables.
Indigenous Architecture can change the way we live on Earth.
Architects are embracing regionalism & traditional buildings, as these structures have proven to be energy efficient & sustainable.
A thread on traditional & indigenous inspired architecture across the Muslim world…
What will happen if we’ll RETHINK our street corners?
We'll realize that until now, we've made them too car-centric. Street corners are designed for fast driving, which means pedestrians have to risk their safety just to cross the street.
@RitikaKhanna28 A few monuments in India too have had certain restrictions, but mainly for special tours that take place at nights. But approaches are different for monuments vs sites (bigger area, more unaccounted footfall). But we certainly can regulate the visitation no much better in genrl.
@RitikaKhanna28 It’s markedly different in India. In a place like Hampi where there visitors require tickets only to visit two temple enclosures (out of 30000 scattered in multi-km radius), there is no singular mode to track the number of visitors, let alone narrowing it down at each monument.
If you are a heritage conservation practitioner with any link to India, please take this survey by my dear friend for his PhD dissertation.
This study stands to give a good insight to the prevalent educational and work practices.
