Right there. I understand that the states that produce the most pounds of beef have the least amount of population and that system is needed but there is no reason we shouldn’t be loaded up with regional packers that kill 100-1000 head of cattle a week.

Madam Secretary @SecRollins , the checkoff is government speech. @USDA can not allow NCBA to squelch challenge and criticism in a public forum. It’s a violation of the first amendment if the checkoff is constitutional.

A handful of Republican Agriculture Committee Senators are working with activists, trying to strong-arm MCOOL into the Senate Farm Bill. Support of MCOOL is a vote for higher beef prices, & against the rebuild of the U.S. cattle herd.
