@OloyeSomorin@Jomilojju Given how weak and corrupt our institutions are, it may become extremely difficult for the new owners to safely and peacefully occupy the house if sold.
"In Japan, a corrupt person kiIIs himself. In China, they will kiII him. In Europe, they jail him. In Africa, he will present himself for an election."
- Prof. PLO Lumumba.
I have never seen a group of people so eager to make excuses and defend to the death bad leadership. And their only justification for this insanity? "The next one will always be worse."
🚨 Excl. - Agreement in principle between #RealMadrid and #EnzoFernandez for a contract until 2032. Real Madrid are now ready to submit a huge bid to #Chelssa to try to sign the midfielder, who wants to leave #CFC and pushing to join Madrid. #transfers
When Peter Obi says he wants to add 10,000MW to Nigeria’s electricity supply, they expect him to explain the location of every power plant, the serial number of every transformer, the route of every transmission line, the name of every engineer, and the registration number of every truck that will deliver the equipments.
That seems to be their definition of “how.” 😂 olodo.
Corruption, money laundering, and fraud ruined Nigeria’s real estate market. Property prices are supposed to reflect the earning power of the people, yet most of us can’t name five widely available jobs that can realistically afford these houses
I listened to Peter Obi’s interview and I saw nothing wrong with it. What I saw was a man who does not want to keep explaining himself over and over again, and honestly, I understand why. Since 2023, Peter Obi has spoken extensively about electricity, security, governance, and the economy. His interviews, his speeches, and his manifesto are all in the public domain for anyone willing to look. So when people still ask how Peter Obi will fix electricity, I have to wonder whether they genuinely want answers or whether they are simply looking for a talking point.
Now let us talk about Tinubu. During the 2023 election, this man ran away from every single platform where he would have been held accountable. He did not attend the presidential debate. He avoided interviews. He ducked every opportunity where Nigerians could have questioned him directly on his promises of better electricity and improved security. His supporters said nothing. They asked nothing. They demanded nothing.
He is now in office and his first term is gradually coming to an end. Electricity and insecurity remains a major challenge, yet those same supporters who never demanded answers from him in 2023 are today asking Peter Obi, a man not in office, to explain himself. That tells you everything.
If Peter Obi’s every word still generates this much attention despite not being in power, then perhaps he is the bigger picture they simply cannot stop thinking about.
Do you know that countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh are so backward?
Because they prioritized religion and prayer over science, economy, and humanity, and took pride in it.
If the Minister of Defense can boldly tell Nigerians to pray against terrorism instead of using military might against them, we are quickly heading the way of Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Trust the process ✌️
I listened to the full 1hr 22min interview with @PeterObi yesterday and I am more than convinced on why he is a major threat to many career Nigerian politicians.
Man is willing to demonstrate an unwavering commitment to end hunger, poverty, insecurity and corruption. Bear in mind that Nigeria is largely preoccupied by state capture and a gang of political thieves who will do whatever in their capacity to keep Nigeria the way it is at the moment.
Peter Obi represents a new order, a total departure from transactional politics, contract inflations, budget padding and will gladly lay down his life to see that Nigeria is steered towards a new trajectory of hope. As young people, we must continue to demand and fight for a better Nigeria for us all. We have been largely shortchanged in the project called Nigeria and today, we say "NO MORE"
Nigeria will be great in my lifetime.
Please if you’re inviting me to your wedding, please warn your MC!
All these yeye wedding games that involves billing, Avoid it please. What do you mean, bridesmaids should come and collect my shoe, then I’ll use 200k to bail the shoe! How much is the shoe in the first place?
The moment I realized this was when we all saw what Eriscofoods did to Chioma Okoli and people went on to continue patronizing them because “no be me dem do am to”.
Our individualism has always been our greatest enemy. And i genuinely believe it is what will lead to our downfall
Children of the VERY average Nigerian used to have birthday celebrations. The parents would rent canopies, cook and invite djs. There used to be parties and the entire neighborhood would gather to celebrate w the child. I don’t hear birthday music anymore. There’s nothing left
"We have given others till June 30th to leave SA BUT we held a meeting yesterday and agreed that NIGERIANS must leave on June 24th. Any Nigerian business that opens from 24th, we will take over the shops"
Posting this so no other tourist falls victim to this scammer.
This is a popular beach guy called Ibrahim also popularly called Ability by the locals and other beach boys.
Ibrahim is a scammer. He and his crew look for unsuspecting tourists and trick them into paying him for activities or tours. His MO is to pretend like he’s negotiating the best deal with you, offer you a fake receipt and then run away with your money. He stops picking calls, blocks you and anyone else he may have linked you with (usually drivers he connects you with) and will not unblock them until he’s sure you’ve left the country.
They have a whole ring. I’ll post a video with more details on how they operate but avoid them. I heard they even scammed a particular tourist of up to $3,000… the local police won’t help you either.
AVOID THE BEACH BOYS and avoid Ibrahim especially. Repost! You might be saving someone.
Rufai Oseni: Did you have a message for those who, no matter what you say, will never say, “Let me give this man a chance”?
Mr. Peter Obi: I am appealing to them, for the sake of their own grandchildren, let’s build a society. Some of them might think they have made enough money. I want to give young Nigerians the opportunity God gave me back then.
People of my age today are ste@ling what they don’t need—how long will they live?
I bought my first brand-new car in 1981 for ₦2,700 and later bought a brand-new 505 SR for ₦7,200. I used to trade in Nigeria and travel to London every weekend. I used to enter Nigeria airways flight from Lagos to New York then was about 155 for a ticket.
