#OTD March 4, 1901, Major Taylor leaves Worcester for his first trip to France. The Kaiser Wilhelm der Grosse sets sail from New York next day w/Taylor aboard "knowing that there might be some feeling against a negro traveling first class," says @onwnews. He was seasick all week.

@British_Airways Is not great poor with customer service! They refused to refund my $ for a cancelled flight during the 2020 pandemic. They never offered refund only a voucher. Said I can get refund in 2021/22. Still denying me a refund. Not happy. #poorservice

#OTD Jan. 26, 1900 - World champ Major Taylor explains to Syracuse Herald why he won't race on Sundays: "It would hardly be compatible with my religion to work on the Sabbath day." He turned down big $$$ to race in Europe, until 1901 when he could negotiate a "no Sundays" clause.

December 1926 - Worcester opticians Magay & Barron @magbarr display Major Taylor's trophies in their Main Street window, & donations pour in to xmastime appeal for the ailing ex-champ, age 48, who had won many bike races "against the bitterest of competition." #honorMajorTaylor

On this day in 1875, A.P Ashbourne received a patent for his invention, the Biscuit Cutter.

It consisted of a board to roll the biscuits out on, which was hinged to a metal plate with various biscuit cutter shapes mounted to it.
