This weekend marked one year since Iryna Zarutska was murdered by a 14-time repeat offender the system kept putting back on the streets.

We will never forget when Democrats refused to stand for Iryna's mother at the State of the Union this year. A 23-year-old woman was murdered. Her mother sat in the chamber with tears streaming down her face. And Democrats sat on their hands. Shameful does not begin to cover it.

Local police SPECIFICALLY CONFIRMED the attack was targeted at Aaron Marin.

Bullet holes can be seen in trees, cars, mailbox, and his kid's basketball hoop. Marin's ENTIRE FAMILY was forced to leave their home and Aaron says they live in, "constant fear."

He says his kids no longer even feel safe to play outside and they are moving away.

Nobody has been arrested.
Nobody has been charged.
Nobody has been named.

Marin's family couldn't stay.

They FLED District 1 entirely, which made him ineligible to run there.

He withdrew in March and wrote that his kids "carry emotional trauma that deepens with each passing day without answers or accountability."

Yesterday, the Board of Elections confirmed the county GOP never filed a replacement before the deadline.

Democrat Morris McAdoo wins the seat unopposed.

Warner Bros lost $75 million on Green Lantern in 2011, shelved the character for 15 years, and watched Ryan Reynolds turn mocking it into a billion-dollar Deadpool bit.

The fix they finally shipped does the opposite of everything the movie did.

The 2011 film spent $200 million, more than The Dark Knight, and made Hal Jordan's suit entirely CGI. 1,300 effects shots. Four months of reshoots. A 3D conversion on top. The director later admitted superhero movies were never his genre.

Lanterns went the other way on every axis. HBO handed it to the Ozark showrunner, the co-creator of Lost and Watchmen, and Tom King, an ex-CIA officer who became DC's best comic writer. They cast 60-year-old Kyle Chandler, put the ring in a dying small town, and shot it like a murder mystery.

9.3 million people showed up in the first three days. That beat The Penguin's launch and Peacemaker's, and critics are calling it the best DC entry since The Batman.

The $200 million version died in one summer. The version set in a motel parking lot became one of HBO's biggest premieres ever.
