BREAKING: Graduate workers at Duke University have won a union.
2,500 student-workers have chosen to organize with @dukegradunion, with 88% voting yes.
They now form the first graduate union at a private university in the South.
Right now, workers from very different occupations and industries are standing together to fight back against corporate greed and to organize for better wages, benefits, and working conditions. Solidarity forever!
NEW: 150,000 autoworkers across the U.S. could walk off the job next month.
They’re fighting for a 40% pay increase — the same raise that Ford, Stellantis & GM CEOs have seen over the past 4 years.
This would be the largest strike in the U.S. auto industry in fifty years.
I stand in strong solidarity with UE Locals 506 & 618 who are on strike fighting for better wages and working conditions at Wabtec in Erie, PA. If Wabtec can afford to spend over $1.1 billion on stock buybacks, it can afford to treat all of its workers with dignity and respect

A bill to create a 4-day work week is about to be introduced in the Pennsylvania legislature.
Companies with more than 500 workers would have to shorten their week to 32 hours, without reducing pay.
Recent polling shows that 81% of workers nationwide want a four-day week.
Press outlets are fearmongering that an auto workers strike could cost "the economy" $5 billion. Turns out this number comes from a "study" by a consultancy group—AEG—that has Ford & GM as clients. Yet this conflict of interest is not disclosed. My latest. https://t.co/mAZSskSFwM
