To every newly called wig congratulations. Now, a word before you pick a path.
Nobody told you this during law school, and nobody will tell you at your call-to-bar dinner: your LLB is not just a ticket to a courtroom. It’s a qualification that opens doors most new lawyers never even hear about until years later sometimes after they’ve already locked themselves into a path they don’t love.
We’re taught one script: get called, join a firm, go to court, aim for partner. That’s one option. Not the only one.
Law school trained you to think critically, research deeply, argue persuasively, and solve hard problems. That skill set doesn’t stay in the courtroom. It works in boardrooms, military bases, newsrooms, NGOs, tech hubs, and government offices.
So to every new wig:
Don’t rush to box yourself in just because “that’s what everyone does after call.” Explore. Ask questions. Try internships across sectors before you commit. You’ve earned the wig now take your time deciding what to actually build with it.
Your law degree is more flexible than anyone told you at graduation. Wear the wig proudly, but don’t let it wear you into just one path.
I think a woman being interested in what you do for a living isn't automatically “gold-digging”.
More often than not, she's trying to understand your direction in life, your ambition, and whether you're building something stable. Love is important, but relationships also have rent, school fees, emergencies, groceries, and responsibilities attached to them.
Love alone doesn't pay the bills. The idea of completely unconditional love between adults is largely a myth in my opinion..Adult relationships come with expectations, effort, and shared responsibility.
A man doesn't have to have everything figured out, but he should have a plan (which is basic) and be actively working toward it. That's what some women are really looking out for.. not perfection, but purpose.
When I started Pharmacology, I thought it was just about drugs.
My ignorance deserved an award. 😂💔
I was there thinking,
"You memorize the drug name, what it's used for, maybe the dose... and you're done."
Pharmacology looked me in the eye and laughed. 😭😂
The first lecture started.
Mechanism of action.
Pharmacokinetics.
Pharmacodynamics.
Absorption.
Distribution.
Metabolism.
Excretion.
Before the drug even reaches the patient, it has already traveled more than I have this year. 😂💔
Then they introduced receptors.
Alpha receptors.
Beta receptors.
Muscarinic receptors.
Nicotinic receptors.
Dopamine receptors.
Serotonin receptors.
Histamine receptors.
Every drug seems to have a favorite receptor and an ex it refuses to bind to. 😭😂
Just when you finally memorize one drug...
Pharmacology says,
"Now let's discuss drugs in the same class."
One drug.
Ten cousins.
Each with a different indication.
Different contraindications.
Different adverse effects.
Different interactions.
And somehow...
Almost the same name. 😂💔
Gentamicin.
Amikacin.
Tobramycin.
Netilmicin.
At some point I stopped reading medicine and started reading baby names. 😭😂
Then comes adverse effects.
You finally learn what a drug treats...
Only to discover it can also damage the liver, kidneys, ears, heart, bone marrow, and your peace of mind. 😂💔
Every lecture ends with,
"Remember this side effect. It's very important."
By the end of the semester, every drug has about 37 side effects and somehow the examiner expects you to remember all of them. 😭😂
Then drug interactions arrive.
Drug A increases Drug B.
Drug C decreases Drug D.
Drug E must never be given with Drug F.
Drug G should be taken before food.
Drug H after food.
Drug I without food.
At this point, even the drugs need relationship counseling. 😂💔
Exam period is where Pharmacology becomes spiritual.
Question:
"State four mechanisms of action of fluoroquinolones."
My brain:
"This drug is used to treat... something." 😭😂
The answers were inside my head.
Unfortunately, they were undergoing first-pass metabolism.
Only a tiny fraction reached the exam booklet. 😂💔
Then you leave the exam hall.
Suddenly every mechanism returns.
Every side effect.
Every interaction.
Even the ones that weren't asked.
Apparently, the knowledge had excellent bioavailability.
It simply refused to cross the blood-brain barrier during the exam. 😭😂
That's when I realized Pharmacology isn't just about drugs.
It's about remembering enough information to make Google feel unemployed.
Pharmacology taught me that the real adverse effect wasn't the drugs...
It was studying them. 😂💔
Life is already hard 💔 please choose someone who chooses you, not just in words, but in actions. Someone who's there for you, stays consistent, and makes you feel wanted, not just when they feel like it, but every day. ❤

Sleeping together is not love. Talking 24/7 is not love. Laying up is not love. Going on dates is not love. Love is someone seeing the absolute worst side of you and still loving you the same. It’s someone making stuff happen for you when you can’t. It’s someone holding you and calming you down while you’re pouring your eyes out. It’s someone voicing all the good things about you when all you see is the bad. It’s someone making sure you’re okay, someone praying for you every day and night. It’s someone that makes you laugh and smile when you feel down
Sexiest things about someone you’re dating:
– Passion. Work, a side hustle, a random hobby- doesn't matter what.
– Ability to communicate. hey, I’m having a bad day, I might not be at my best today.
– Takes care of themselves. How they dress, their health, their mental state. Showing up for yourself is hot as hell.
– Clarity. Knows what they want from you and not afraid to ask for it.
– Very very chalant. No pretense of acting too cool to care. Caring is very much needed in today's world.
In English...
Whenever you see an expression such as:
"It is high time" or "It is about time," or "It is time"
Note that it must be followed by a past-tense verb (even if you're talking about something that hasn't happened yet).
This comes under what's known as the subjunctive mood.
For example:
- It's high time you went there.
- It's about time you sent the report.
- It is time we started playing the game.
I hope we learnt something.
Stay sharp! 🪒
