🔸Zimbabwe will not become great from crumbs and handouts donated by mbingas to those made poor by decades of bad governance, economic mismanagement and corruption.

Having to constantly beg corrupt “rich” wigs for basic things like cars and hospital fees is not the Zimbabwean Dream that our forebears fought for. The true liberators fought for Gutsaruzhinji. Not GutsaZanu or GutsaMbinga.

You know the wheels have fallen off when a grown man has to write a long poem glorifying a financial criminal because that criminal is moneyed and can make showboating donations to the poor and vulnerable to further their own political and egotistical objectives.

It is a shame.

And so Zimbabwe will become great when we have leaders who implement root and branch structural reform of what’s broken in our economy, government policy and our society. Zimbabweans want and deserve a socio-economic ecosystem that works for everyone not just a few who sing or are prepared to be runners for their supper. Every person must have freedom, fairness and opportunity.

I repeat, there is no dignity in having to grovel at those close to the feeding trough in order to survive. We don’t want to be at the mercy of political super-elites whom we have to beg for rice, a car or money to access health care.

We want the sort of dignity where ordinary people, who are not politically connected or who even believe different, can get an education, work hard, do business and thrive so that we can fund our own food, cars, homes, healthcare and livelihoods independent of the political personalities or mood of the day.

To get there, we need new leaders.🇿🇼
