BREAKING: Cambodian military informs 13 foreign military attachés and diplomats that Thai troops have captured 20 Cambodian soldiers
(One escaped, two suspected dead)
(Preah Vihear): On the morning of July 30, 2025, the Cambodian military leadership officially informed 13 foreign military attachés and diplomats about an incident where Thai soldiers captured 20 Cambodian soldiers. According to the report, one soldier managed to escape, and two are suspected to have been killed.
The incident happened after a ceasefire agreement had already taken effect. At the time, Thai and Cambodian soldiers were meeting to shake hands at the Choam Te battlefield as a sign of peace. However, during that moment, Thai troops suddenly turned and detained the Cambodian soldiers.
According to the Cambodian military, the information was shared during a field visit by senior officials from the Ministry of National Defense, along with foreign military attachés and diplomats based in Cambodia, to the Cambodia–Thailand border. The purpose of the visit was to inspect the location and observe the actual situation regarding the ceasefire implementation.
The Cambodian side reported to the 13 foreign military representatives that, on the morning of July 29, 2025, when the ceasefire was officially in place, Cambodian soldiers approached Thai troops to shake hands. But on their way back, Thai soldiers suddenly raised their weapons and captured the Cambodian troops on the spot.
As of the afternoon of July 30, 2025, according to the Cambodian military’s account, the Thai military has still not released the captured Cambodian soldiers.

“Are you hurt when Thailand used the most despicable tactic to capture Cambodian soldiers while we were the most honest with them?”
This was the anguished cry of Major General Chan Sophotra, speaking to foreign military attachés after 20 of his soldiers were captured by Thai troops using such dirty tricks.
Of the 20 Cambodian soldiers captured by Thai troops, one escaped and two others were suspected of being shot dead by Thai troops.

Dear our foreign friends on Twitter, Please take a look the World heritage site. Preah Vihear temple. Largest Hindu Shiva temple. Thailand bombed again and again. Picture. 27 July 2025. Please save this World Heritage Site. !
The Ministry of National Defense, Cambodia firmly rejects the false, fabricated, and distorted claims from the Thai side that Cambodia has used long-range PHL-03 missiles to fire into Thai territory. Cambodia has no need to use such long-range PHL-03 missiles.
So Cambodia blasts rockets into a Thai 7-Eleven and a hospital—indiscriminately—and Thailand fires back with cluster bombs? Call it what you want, but this isn’t defense. It’s reckless. It’s dangerous. Stop the carnage and start acting like leaders. Peace!!
UN Security Council report shows #Thailand's lack of respect and acknowledgement for ASEAN and the council in peace talk regarding #ThailandCambodia dispute. They want to bully #Cambodia to surrender in military race.
