@CityOfNorthVan Does @CityOfNorthVan have a magic wand that’s going to make Burrard Inlet less toxic?
It takes a lot of time, money and effort to transform toxic soup into a swimmer-friendly environment

@JMeddings Sadly, I don't see any practical solution to get through this roadblock. With the sharp decline in political accountability over the last 20 years, our democracy is eroding and being replaced with more authoritarian leadership.
I can't see any party agreeing to what is needed.
Man arrested for assaulting a female stranger with lumber, released
Vancouver police announced that a man they advocated to be kept in custody, was released by the courts, 48 hours after allegedly violently assaulting a random women with a large piece of driftwood.

@DailyHiveVan You worry about people driving across a crosswalk but not about a monster that attacks a woman at a beach being released into the community? Glad you got your priorities straight. @surfingshreddie@JonFraserTF@preta_6

@markroseman If only we had an effective political opposition that could “encourage” more accountability, and maybe even give voters hope for positive change.
Dare to dream, right?!
@markroseman Try to see it as an investment in the ongoing bankruptcy of B.C 👀
The Eby Gang is counting on Kerry-Lynne Findlay to turn so far to the right that most voters just won’t show up on election day.
Maybe once Alberta separates, they’ll figure out how to bring us along with them.
BC govt's own overuse of NDAs and war against transparency in its own operations is certainly a factor here. Public interest is the clear loser.

@davidjohns37245@cburton001@brianlilley It’s not rocket scientology, David.
Carney must appear to be “standing up” to the Trump regime, so that the sheeple of Canada have a delusion to get behind.
He’s just hedging his/our bets, as it’s only a matter of time before Trump &/or Xi is removed from office. After that = 🤷🏻♂️
@HarmanBhanguBC “The NDP continues to fail BC…” largely because of the insane deal that Falcon made with Rustad and Isadorou.
We needed an effective opposition, and got an ego driven dog & pony show.
The current Conservative lineup will alienate most voters, and doom BC to more insanity
@markroseman The current Conservative Party built too much of its foundation on the wreckage of what Falcon, Rustad, Isadorou et al tried to cobble together.
They have doomed us to live through more over the top posturing, rhetoric and divisiveness.
Hooray . . .

Here's my free advice to the @Conservative_BC if they want to be "less scary" on health. 🧵
1. Make a huge deal of the wasted spending on health, inefficiency, the huge spending growth and lack of results. Start at https://t.co/36sRrNo2pS if you're puzzled.
Agree with much of this. If KLF and the Cons maintain their right tilt (and many supporters are salivating at the possibilities if they do) it will leave a big opening for the absolutely incompetent NDP—likely with a new leader—to retain power.
A more moderate, boring, fuck-the-ideology-we're-just-going-to-focus-on-effective-management-of-essential-public-services option would be a true godsend (snap!) for people in BC… too bad there isn't one.
If things play out as they are set to now, the next election will have more zeal than a religious crusade, and we'll end up with either a corrupt incompetent govt or a nutjob incompetent govt.

Most discussion on mental health and psychiatry focuses on the vitally important issues related to involuntary care.
But that's not what most people who need help deal with. The "system" is failing them too.
You deserve an honest discussion of how, why, and what you can do.
