A lot of restaurant owners are taking a stand in Texas by continuing to require masks.

Why this matters: 🗣
They're choosing to make business harder on themselves — by requiring masks when they don't have to — bc they say it's the right thing to do.

There’s no telling when this crisis will end. Many of us have closed our doors for good and countless jobs have been lost. But one thing is for certain: Congress can still take action to help our industry get through this crisis by passing restaurant relief now. #SaveRestaurants

For independent restaurants and bars, every table, every service & every single day matters. For those of us fighting to stay open, we know it’s going to be a long time before things return to normal. We need the #RestaurantsActNow to get through this crisis.

"[Senator Schumer's] support increases the possibility that the bailout for restaurants could move forward on its own."

Thank you @SenSchumer for your incredible leadership. The RESTAURANTS Act will help #SaveRestaurants in New York & across the country.

“We are a family of more than 500,000 restaurants all across America. We need to remember that through this pandemic, of every 4 jobs lost, at least 1 has been from the restaurant community.”

Closed. Prepared to reopen. Closed again. Open halfway. Closed again.

This isn’t working.

Independent restaurants need to know that relief is on the way. #RestaurantsActNow @marcvetri

“PPP loans were a great start, but it’s like getting people over the first mile of a 10-mile bridge. In the very near future, that bridge is going to end and we still need to get to the other side of the river, or we’re going into the river.”

The RESTAURANTS Act would:

🔹Establish the $120B Independent Restaurant Revitalization Fund we’ve been fighting for

🔹Generate up to $271B in economic benefits and reduce the unemployment rate by 2.4%

“Last year, my restaurant celebrated its 10th anniversary. Right now, I’m not sure we’ll make it to an 11th. The way the [PPP] stands now, I will have run through all of the money before the gov't will allow restaurants to safely reopen to customers.” @DirtCandy #SaveRestaurants

PPP isn’t helping small independent restaurants survive this crisis. Congress MUST #FixPPP so we can get through this. Join @IndpRestaurants & demand your reps take action: https://t.co/Gha60aLcCV @SenFeinstein @SenKamalaHarris

We’re grateful that the CARES Act is now law. But this relief is by no means the solution. It’s a lifeline to keep our restaurants afloat, but it won’t reopen our doors. Local, independent restaurants need more. We’re just getting started. #SaveRestaurants https://t.co/5ncbtGmkSG
