AN OPEN LETTER TO ALL NORTH INDIANS

Dear North Indians,
I am a South Indian, Tamilian to be specific, who has lived over two decades in Tamil Nadu and now living in Delhi for the last 10 years and has travelled to almost all North Indian states, except Chhatisgarh. Yes, we Tamilians also migrate for better opportunities like anyone else does and I have never, never, ever felt unwelcomed or discriminated against in any part of north India.

On behalf of my fellow southern folks, I sincerely apologize to all so-called Hindi belt people for the ignorant, arrogant, and unruly behaviour of some South Indians who have been criticizing every North Indian after Congress suffered a humiliating defeat in three out of four large states in the recent elections.

There’s nothing called the North-South divide. Our diverse language system across the country since times immemorial united us. The language was never a hurdle for Sankaracharya when he stepped out of Kerala to unite all diverse sects/sampraday of what we now call Sanatan dharm or Hinduism but today unfortunately in the era of Western social media tools, it is dividing us.

I am sorry for all Gaumutr racist and Islamist slurs targeted at you. In my opinion, the entire Bharat i.e. India is a cow-belt region as cow is sacred to all of us.

It is the faulty ideology of secularism and Muslim appeasement that dominated the states of North India for so long, which is responsible for the backwardness of some of these states. Under the Hindutva regime today:
- A law-abiding Uttar Pradesh is progressing towards a $1 trillion economy,
- Madhya Pradesh is no longer in the BIMARU category,
- Gujarat and Maharashtra collectively contribute to GST collection than Kerala+Tamil Nadu+Karnataka+Telangana combined.

- While Bihar, despite its "secular and socialist" label, is still grappling with significant backwardness due to misplaced priorities of divisive caste politics and religious appeasement,
- Bengal is, for some reason, competing with Bihar in going backwards, (I really don't get why Bengalis are abusing north India!)
- Punjab, under AAP rule, is burdened with the highest public debt at 47% of its state GDP.

Similarly, in the South, the situation is very challenging:
- Kerala has one of the highest debts at ₹4 lakh crore, implying that every child in the state is born with a debt of more than half a lakh rupees. With limited opportunities for employment, the state has one of the highest suicide rates and out-migration
- Karnataka, after a Congress victory, struggles with financial constraints, with the CM seeking additional funds from the Centre for funding its freebies.
- Tamil Nadu, with its pathetic infrastructure stands exposed during present floods and who’s helping us? When the system has collapsed and no DMK (@arivalayam) leaders can be seen on the ground, it is @BJP4TamilNadu and #RSS volunteers, who despite their own challenges, are on the ground helping us with food and relief materials.

Similarly, I can go on and on about the advantages/disadvantages of every state but let us stop here.

Thus, every state, whether in the North or South, has its unique challenges and problems, but what matters is the intent of the elected government. If UP can be reformed under @myogiadityanath, then any state can be.

Building a nation requires the efforts of everyone, and I am committed to being a part of it. We are India, and we are Bharat—no difference, division, or distinction. We’re united.

Once again, on behalf of some bigoted and misguided sections of South Indians, I apologize to all my fellow North Indians.

Three Mistakes by the Modi Government in the Run-up to the UGC Equity Regulations Fiasco

1. Failure to challenge the original demand and Its Premise - All the changes to the 2012 regulations stemmed from a PIL filed in 2019 by the mothers of Rohith Vemula and Payal Tadvi, who died in 2016 and 2019 respectively. Their families alleged that the students died by suicide after being subjected to caste-based discrimination. Based on this premise, the SC asked the Ministry of Education to issue new regulations.

However, the very foundation of this premise later came under serious question. In May 2024, the Telangana Police submitted a closure report to the HC regarding Rohith Vemula’s 2016 death. The report stated that he was not a Dalit and had died by suicide due to fear of his real caste identity being revealed. It granted a clean chit to the accused individuals, citing a lack of evidence that he had been targeted on the basis of caste.

This raises an obvious and critical question: Why did the Ministry of Education’s legal team fail to challenge the PIL and its underlying assumptions? If the closure report existed and directly contradicted the central narrative, it could have been used to contest the very premise of the case. Instead, the government allowed the premise to stand, only for it to generate larger institutional and political complications later.

2. Allowing Indira Jaising to Influence the Regulatory Framework - Even after the initial controversy, the UGC drafted what appeared to be a relatively balanced set of guidelines in 2025. The draft regulations attempted to strike a balance between strengthening protections and preserving institutional autonomy, fairness, and due process.

The 2025 draft:

1. Defined discrimination as “unfair, differential, or biased treatment”
2. Allowed contextual interpretation by institutions
3. Proposed equity committees chaired by institutional heads
4. Mandated at least one SC/ST member
5. Encouraged broad stakeholder inclusion
6. Emphasized natural justice and procedural fairness
7. Adopted a preventive rather than punitive framework

Despite this measured approach, the petitioners remained dissatisfied. Sr Adv Indira Jaising then proposed ten core changes to the draft regulations.

This leads to a fundamental policy question: Why did the government permit a rabid leftist & a shady lawyer to shape regulatory changes of such significance?

Regulations affecting university governance, due process, and institutional balance require careful neutrality. What where ministry people smoking?

3. Failure to Gauge Public Sentiment and Escalating Outrage - After the draft regulations were published, public backlash began to intensify. A govt that consistently highlights its strong feedback systems and social media engagement might have been expected to quickly recognize the scale and intensity of the reaction.

Ideally, the government could have:

1. Clarified the draft status
2. Initiated wider consultation
3. Introduced early amendments
4. Temporarily withdrawn contentious provisions

Instead, the outrage was allowed to grow, followed by counter-outrage, deepening polarization.

This inevitably raises a strategic question: Was this simply a miscalculation, or something more systemic?

How did a government that claims mastery over digital narratives fail to accurately assess the mood of its own core support base?

We always talk of how PM @narendramodi is destiny’s own child - note how the currently raging global carnage, following imposition of Trump tariffs, has again presented itself as an opportunity rather than a pain.

If you look at the global map of world’s big economies, you can’t help but conclude that of all, India is the country that is in a sweet spot. Let us enlist factors as below:

1) Indian stocks have been correcting for 5 months now with March being the only exception and entire gains of March have already vanished in this carnage
2) Indian corporate earnings have been faring badly for past 3 qtrs now and green shoots had become visible with Q4 likes to be the best in terms of Corp earnings for Corp India.
3) Regulatory and liquidity squeeze, that was suffocating markets, have seen significant easing ever since new RBI gov came in.
4) Interest rate cycle is already seeing signs of easing and a rate cut is expected in 3 days.
5) Oil- India’s biggest pain point is already down significantly thus easing inflationary concerns
6) India is food reliant and much of its exports- barring shrimps - are inelastic. Also its import basket, gives India an opportunity to diversify its suppliers.
5) Last but not the least, 60% of India’s economy is domestic driven and hence direct impact of tariffs on Indian economy is gonna be minuscule with sufficient leverage available with GOI to shift the import basket such that it takes care of Trump’s concerns.

And the smart ass that we are- we haven’t uttered a word on tariffs - instead we are already busy negotiating a trade deal with Trump.

The “cow slaughter in Vedas” lie is one of the laziest and most intellectually bankrupt distortions ever pushed. Here’s a breakdown of the 3 most cited mantras—(Rigveda 10.85.13, 10.86.14, 10.91.14)—to expose the linguistic fraud. Every single one crumbles when read with even basic dhatu and Nirukta clarity.

1. RV 10.85.13
Claim: Oxen are slain at weddings.
Reality: The mantra uses ukṣāṇaḥ and vadhitaṁ.

Ukṣan is from ukṣ = to sprinkle, nourish, energize—not a “bullock” to be butchered.

Vadhitaṁ comes from vadha, which in Vedic usage means restrain, subdue, silence—not slaughter.

Refer Nirukta - oldest texts on Vedic words and their meanings

Prati = toward.
One interpretation is a wedding ritual, symbolizing channeling inner vitality and restraining distractions. There is no ox, no slaughter, just metaphorical refinement of energy.

2. RV 10.86.14
Claim: Bullocks prepared for Indra with fat eaten.
Reality: Mantra says gavyāṁ sumāṁsam ābharā pavitre.

Gavyām = from gau = light, knowledge, speech, Earth—not necessarily “cow”.

Sumāṁsam = su + māṁsa = refined essence, nourishment, not flesh.

Pavitre = purifier—not cooking vessel but ritual purity or the inner space of consciousness.
Meaning: “Bring forth the nourishing essence of light into the purifier for Indra.”

Indra itself means one who causes rain of prosperity through dynamism. Aatmaa is also Indra.

No meat. No butchery. Purely symbolic offering of inner clarity.

3. RV 10.91.14
Claim: Barren cows are offered to Agni.
Reality: Uses anaduh śukram dhārayaṁsam.

Anaduh = that which does not nourish (not just “barren cow”)—can refer to old ideas, unproductive thoughts.

Juhutā = offer into Agni = symbolic burning of wasteful tendencies.

Śukraṁ dhārayaṁsam = sustaining brilliance.
Meaning: “Offer what no longer nourishes into the flame that carries brilliance.”
Again—no cow, no meat, no blood—only inner purification through fire.

Veda mantras operate in layers of symbolic cognition. Words like gau, māṁsa, vadh, ukṣan have multi-layered meanings. Only a clown reads them literally.
Every Vedic yajña is a conscious refinement of prāṇa, vāk, and manas—not a barbecue.

The entire meat-in-Vedas narrative collapses under the weight of Sanskrit root logic and Nirukta. It’s time to stop parroting colonial-puranic debris and start reading Veda like a rishi, not like a recipe book.

Indus corpus is 100% translated.

Some observations:
1. Grammatically correct Sanskrit throughout.
2. Consistent themes. A huge percentage (approx 90% relate to Rudra. Other gods like Indra and Vishnu are mentioned by their other names).
3. Rare missing anusvara, visarga as in later Brahmi inscriptions
4. Almost all inscriptions are R>L. Very few are L>R, most of L>R have the directional marker.
5. There is only one word रल in only one inscription M-1701 that is not officially in the dictionary. Related words do exist in the dictionary.

All in all, the translation effort has been a spectacular success and validates the decipherment.

I'd like to give a shoutout to all who have helped with the website, Sanskrit grammar, many suggestions. Especially thanks to the early critics, who tried to falsify my work. Your work improved the decipherment because my direction was generally right. The list of people to acknowledge is very long and impractical to list here.
