@elonmusk@elonmusk Hey Elon, ever pondered blasting Grok into the education orbit? Math ed is stuck in the 1950s with rote AI tutors… let’s make one that’s revolutionary, sparking kids’ mathematical minds like a Tesla accelerating to warp speed! What do you say? Lol
Engage students in a hands-on activity to assess their understanding of place value. Utilize a blank number line for them to accurately and proportionally arrange numbers. This kinesthetic task will enhance their grasp of place value concepts.
@HRaleighspeaks@Stanford Haha, can you explain exactly what’s unconstitutional about Jo Boaler’s work? Have you actually looked at it? She’s not just delaying learning—she wants kids to deeply understand math and actually problem-solve. I know, wild concept!
@sf_angry@JaneWisdom34856@dannoyes Hahaha Jo Boaler wants to kill algebra?? That’s funny because after attending her workshop and using her methods the only thing that has happened is my students algebra skills are strengthened. What math classes do you actually teach?
The first step of differentiation is knowing your students. The first step in creating a safe classroom is knowing your students. First day is the best time to start.
Question of the day: Should summative assessment exist during the school year? Isn’t the point to be continually learning? What benefits are there in summative assessment mid year? 🤔🧐🤔 #mypmath#Mathematics
In math we often forget about making tasks accessible to our EAL Ss. The importance of this struck me when one of my Ss handed in a blank assessment. When provided with the appropriate support structures, he was fully capable of showcasing his comprehension. #eal#mathEducation
In math we so often create math units as stand alone concepts. But that’s not how it works in life is it? Let’s start pushing multi-subject units with rich real world application tasks!!
Talking with an old friend tonight about the struggles of “not enough time to teach math both for fluency and understanding” his response “secondary curriculum over the past 100 years has been accelerated to cover twice the content.” Now I’m on a hunt to see if this is true.
Heading into the weekend using prime factor circles from @MathforLove on Polypad to think about fractional exponents. Try for yourself at https://t.co/pru8zV9Sut
