Because he’s been playing under a coach who refuses to move on from Messi. Every chance he gets in front of the media to talk about the best players, he talks about Messi instead of using that platform to promote and build up his own players.

Take Salah for example. If he had the exact same seasons he produced two or three years ago, but did it at Manchester United, Barcelona, or especially Real Madrid, I genuinely believe he would’ve won at least two Ballon d’Ors by now.

Modern football isn’t just about performances anymore. PR, club stature, and global media attention play a massive role. Playing for a club with less clout is a real disadvantage when it comes to individual awards.
