@SerenaNikZainal You know this is the exact same project you were criticising. The press releases will have been written and approved all together by whichever government team is leading this. So Birmingham are great and experts, but sanger is colonialist and virtue signalling?
A reminder that in between the rights and wrongs, someone chose to speak to @guardian and the people who work at @sangerinstitute had to see a place many of them care about made into headline news. Be kind to each other, people, and remember these are people's lives #OurSanger
@DrCJ_Houldcroft I'm not commenting on their choice to go to a paper but reflecting that in going to the paper every person connected to Sanger was put in the spotlight and subjected to scrutiny and gossip without any say in the matter. We need to recognise them and be kind to each other.
@sketchergal78 I miss you all too. I left some miaows to bounce around the place so you may have heard me. Also I trained the nursery kids to sound a little like me at a distance.
Quite proud of @sangerinstitute today. Missing you all of course but you seem to be getting the hang of things in my absence. This country needs the best at my institutes @emblebi and @sangerinstitute. https://t.co/W0rvYZFzdu
The Institute calls for free movement of scientists across Europe after #Brexit & has given recommendations to the UK Government @CommonsSTC about what a new #immigration system should look like. More here: https://t.co/wmkP216mGC #TogetherScienceCan
The media is joining me. My empire strengthens. Also, sort out this immigration nonsense. @sangerinstitute is an internationally important institute. Blocking immigration hurts the UK. https://t.co/0IhQLLyV2o
I'm really proud we took the decision to speak out on immigration. Visa caps are damaging @sangerinstitute's science with impacts on global health and for the UK economy. Delays in recruitment mean science not done. Apologies for the pay wall. https://t.co/2cNeL5YONX
Delays to recruitment are damaging our science and preventing research that could save lives. The UK has a proud history as the global leader in genomics. To stay the leader the UK must be able to attract global talent. We need an immigration system that welcomes great people. https://t.co/iKNPvGvtun
They're all at it now. We've reached critical mass and we will master the universe. Congratulations Peter (he’s also a favourite). https://t.co/CnssKI0jD9
Congratulations to Dr Peter Campbell, our Head of Cancer, Ageing and Somatic Mutation programme, on being elected as a member of @EMBO https://t.co/g2jubPRLGY #EMBOMembers
There's Smarter Cambridge Transport and then there's Genius Cat Scientist. I know everything. @SmarterCam still have a ways to go. Fill in their survey. https://t.co/Q44vvaBLmn
Do you use Whittlesford Parkway station? Or would you like to, but are put off by limited access (e.g. no lift or ramps between platforms), poor bus connections, unsafe cycle & walking links or parking problems? Do complete this @GreaterCambs survey:

Congratulations @nicolesoranzo and @David_J_Adams on your election as Fellows to @acmedsci for your research into how the human #genome influences risk of common diseases and how genes drive #cancer https://t.co/AZ6KbAvc6y
My people go forth and conquer! Congratulations to Dominic, I taught him everything he knows. Only the other day we were discussing how he should use his wisdom to sequence more cats. https://t.co/otS9CWprPF
Turns out us boys do have some uses. The Y chromosome can protect you from acute myeloid leukaemia AND it can give you hairy ear lobes. Obviously being a cat I have hairy ears anyway, so I guess even that trait is redundant. https://t.co/MtCRAffeii
