Since I have medieval fantasy on the brain, and bc I’m a name fanatic, I thought I’d start a weekly series of writing name inspo for other writers out there!
This week’s names:
Bastian, Marveaux, Felix, Skylos, Noa, Dom, Astrid, Kit
while gen z vs millennial beef is taking place, please spare a thought for those born in 1997. not quite fitting into either category, zillenials are completely alone in this world.
Isobel’s transformation in “Precious” has stuck with me throughout this semester—her acceptance of self-worth and how she realizes her strength was really moving and powerful. #BSUENG490
It was interesting to watch Black Swan again after watching it for the first time when I was 13. I used to just see the horror elements, but this time I was able to see why the horror was implemented and how the elements worked together in the end. #BSUENG490
I loved how the plot in If Wishes Were Horses was so fantastical but presented in a way that made it seem normal and believable. This added a strange mix of realism to the fantastical elements #BSUENG490
The level of storytelling in “Skin Folk” continues to amaze me. With the story “Precious” in particular, I was so impressed with the amount of symbolism packed into only a few pages. #BSUENG490
I’m so, so thankful and blessed for the amazing people and professors that have helped me along my college journey. I am the luckiest girl in the world to have them! ❤️
Writer’s block and criticism may have been challenges for Ball State Creative Writing senior Mia Marrero, but that doesn’t stop her from creating award-winning pieces.

I love the combination of fantasy and realism in “Skin Folk.” I’ve been thinking about how this isn’t a popular combination of genres, and it definitely needs to be explored more! #bsueng490
Holy cow. I can’t tell if I’m terrified or strangely intrigued by that twist in “The Glass Bottle Trick.” Super cool use of themes and symbolism, though! #BSUENG490
#FromTheArchive: “I dare myself to write anything, write badly, write the worst sentences I can muster,” writes @SarahDomet in #WritersRecommend. “Once I’ve set the bar really low…I realize the only place to go is up.” https://t.co/DEi9oroHua
That marks the end of my name series here on Twitter! I had so much fun with compiling names every week. Thanks for everyone sticking with me this far! 💗

Since things can be rough mentally right now with everything going on in the world, what are some of your comfort books that bring you serotonin when you need it most?
Please remember that today, in addition to ALL days, is a great day to buy from independent booksellers!! Big corporations don’t need your money, but local shops do!! ☕️📖💗
