Last night, I read the entirety of C.S. Lewis' The Screwtape Letters. It's a novel told in the form of letters written by a demon to another demon instructing him on ways to manipulate his "patient" to do evil.
This one quote sounded familiar.
@murmur1tUpP@biggfootdad@FlerfWatch OMG this again makes no sense. What does entropy and a boat have to do with gravity or mass attracting mass? What the hell are you talking about? Why do you keep posting the dictionary for no reason?
The most arresting aspect of the body cam footage is the realization that Henry Nowak actually was who the Left tried to make George Floyd out to be. They uttered the same dying words. The phenomenon was real, but the details were precisely inverted.
@murmur1tUpP@biggfootdad@FlerfWatch The sentence made no sense. Mass attracting mass is a description of gravity. It is not entropy or equilibrium. Those are different words and concepts. The rest of your tweet made no sense. So you deny that mass attracts mass?
@murmur1tUpP@biggfootdad@FlerfWatch Mass attracts mass. The Cavendish experiment. Orbital mechanics. Light being bent by gravity near the sun, the Eddington experiment which Einstein theorized and then it was observed and photographed. There's endless proofs that gravity exists rather than the planet just moving up
Whenever I spend 1 minute looking into the facts, the truth always turns out to be totally different than what anti-Israel obsessives imply.
The headline is painting a narrative that Israel has perhaps intentionally sabotaged Trump's negotiations by attacking Iran.
Israel—boo! They're controlling us!
But I found it odd that the headline didn't say Israel attacked Iran, but merely began a "fresh bombing campaign." Smells like potential narrative manipulation by omission.
Turns out that my intuition was correct. Israel did not bomb Iran, they bombed Hezbollah in Lebanon. And they did it because Hezbollah launched dozens of rockets and drones at Israel on May 30-31. So it makes total sense why Israel began a "fresh bombing campaign."
In other words, the Daily Mail manipulated a story about Israel responding to attacks by Iran's terror proxy into a headline designed to make people believe Israel purposefully decided to sabotage Trump’s diplomacy with Iran by attacking them unprovoked.
It's a perfect example of how a headline can be factually correct in a very narrow sense by omitting context to serve as reality-inverting propaganda.
"Oh," you fell for a psyop that takes 1 minute to debunk?
Congratulations.
@SkylarDarkfox@FlerfWatch They seem to think that once something is far enough away it disappears into a vanishing point. I don't understand HOW they believe this.
@LuxVeritasAeter@MarieleRedclaw The anime will have one of those super long titleS. "Humanity is stupid So Now I have to Build my Harem in the World Dungeon!"
@FrankSnow2@Fat_Electrician Thomas Sowell is not an Ayn Rand objectivist. He is not a full libertarian anarchist in any way shape or form. The fact you characterized him as such means you're acting in bad faith. He believes the government is the one primarily screwing us, which is correct.
The common objection to JK Rowling’s scientifically accurate definition is “you’re reducing females to their biology”
These purposefully obtuse chucklenuggets never apply this fallacious logic to other definitions.
We don’t hear them objecting to the definition of human by saying “don’t reduce me to my species” or to the definition of adult by saying “don’t reduce me to my age.”
Although more and more of these delusional people love objecting to their age and species as meaningful categories.
Either way, defining a category does not imply rejection of all other aspects of the person.
@TakedownMRAs@eliotranch Yeah there's these things called ideologies. You can look it up. The TRA had a framework that explains the movement and how they interpret things like metaphysics and biology. Denying it's an ideology is saying there is no trans rights movement or worldview.
I joined this site in 2023 because I was exhausted by the endless, reality-defying rhetoric around trans ideology elsewhere.
At that time - just 2.5 short years ago - the accepted TRA wisdom was that transwomen aren't female but they are women.
Then they started shifting to transwomen being 'female' like any other woman.
Now they've shifted to the entire concept of 'biological woman' being made up.
Ironically, this is the most accurate they've ever been.
"Woman" already pointed to a biological reality.
The idea of a 'biological woman' was a tautological attempt at compromise. A way to carve out a tiny sliver of womanhood that only women can occupy - so that we can have rape crisis centres or domestic abuse shelters or sports of our own.
And now that is apparently bigotry.
They really are the kings of 'give them an inch and they'll take a mile'.
