Proud to announce my commitment to Lewis University! Thank you to my parents for allowing me to chase my dreams everyday. Thank you to @herrenc @TylerIngramRVC @JackHowardRVC for all the learning moments and support the past 3 years. And always, Glory to God! Let’s work!
@ajsteinbrenner I think the Tigers were looking for OF and starting pitching. I’d have taken Letson and Ragsdale for Mize and Jansen, but I’m not the GM.
Mayfield it is! Tigers fans, you will love this deal. Forget about 2026 - this season was over the second we dealt Skubal. You will love Mayfield though he’s still 2 years away. #RepDetroit#DNMW
Eric makes great points about the Skubal deal, what the Tigers are getting, and why the Brewers and Rays didn't pony up. Good analysis. I'm most excited about Ryan but remain modestly concerned about Hope's swing-and-miss. https://t.co/U3neRfZR8W
This post was more about me being disappointed that the Brewers didn't offer more. I'm a Tigers' fan first, Brewers' fan second. I really wanted Skubal at AmFam field. That said, it fuels the owners call for a salary cap and there's no way the players let that happen.
Tarik Skubal to the Dodgers is the worst thing for baseball and almost certainly guarantees a protracted lockout potentially jeopardizing 2027. I’m not sure who to be pissed at — Milwaukee could easily have beaten that offer. Not sure Harris did his full due diligence.
The Tigers are building a stable of hitters that will grind pitchers down. It starts with McGonigle but adding Greene, Dingler, Clark and (hopefully) Hope is a strong core. And look at the walk rates of Lee, Briceno and Ranier. This is the plate-approach plan coming together.
Good analysis of the trade -- and why the Crew, Tribe and Rays didn't anti up. Calls it a good deal for both sides. I still preferred Sirota over Hope, though Hope slides on a continuum somewhere between Brian Giles and Trayce Thompson imo. https://t.co/K5So11SJ2T
I love what Ryan brings. He's 27 but that due to injuries delaying him. He was a late bloomer but his arsenal is polished, including a ++4-seamer and +curve. Command and health have been the only questions. We may see him The D later this month with Jobe.
River Ryan (acquired by DET) is a veteran prospect with all the tools to be a mid-rotation starter in MLB once he ultimately returns from TJS. Despite his age, he is considered one of the top pitching prospects in baseball thanks to his outstanding stuff and solid command
Not enough Tigers fans. No MLB ready pitcher with quality. I love River Ryan but he’s currently on the DL at AAA and may not pitch again this year. Hope’s a good prospect but we shoulda coulda got Davalan too. Brady Smith is a toss in … No Wrobleski or Sheehan?
