@ArataStart1@Leophilius on the grounds of its usefulness probably. but imma just ask what actually grounds truth for you because you've somewhat contradicted yourself formally as to what truth tracks, so what makes you think something is true
@ArataStart1@Leophilius for what its worth, there are arguments for doing good even with determinism, but thats not the point, your theory of truth is based on what you think is practical, because most of your justifications have been "i couldn't live otherwise" or "it's not useful to me" which is like
@ArataStart1@Leophilius i mean i don't think we are coming to a consensus but if you believe your sigjt is reliable bcus its useful, and you believe your morals are reliable because they have use, you're still operating under the same theory of truth for both and both should be reliable to an extent.
@ArataStart1@Leophilius i mean like i said why do you know if you can walk or if your legs exists, and like sure you wouldn't 100% say your sight is reliable, but you'd probably rely on your sight if you see a car about to hit you
@ArataStart1@Leophilius so you grant sight because its useful to you, but morality isn't that useful, i think you've managed to stumble into pragmatic theory of truth actl
@ArataStart1@Leophilius i mean tbh it kinda is like you'd probably have a hard time talking with ppl if you're like we should kill people for fun, in a practical sense
@ArataStart1@Leophilius rereadig your post you seem to be leaning towards global skepticism actually, so then i wanna ask how do you know your senses are reliable or not, and when are they reliable
@ArataStart1@Leophilius logically extend it to where you're beliefs become global skepticism (you don't trust anything), like how do you know your other senses(including logic) are reliable besides relying on those senses again
@ArataStart1@Leophilius because if your other senses seem to be truth tracking, then due to their prima facie nature (at first appearance), we generally grant these some form of epistemic privilege because of it, its fine if u don't accept data cause its prima facie but ppl could probably
@ArataStart1@Leophilius ill try to to defend intuitionism by saying that if you take your other seemings as reliable and being justified, then moral seemings should follow the same justification in the absence of defeators
