We showed them some of the maps we made in QGIS and they showed us how to produce simple but interactive maps through the use of #qgis #googleearth and #googlemaps

Followed by a practical session on the application of Geospatial technologies particularly open source software like QGIS and open data like OSM to map areas facing climate change problems and their potential solutions which was facilitated by a representative from @OMDTZ

In the second day of the @geoict4e #MCL program, students in sets of small groups at @sokoineuniversity formulated various solutions to problems facing Urban ecology and identified potential stakeholders that can benefit or get involved.

The training program will continue for a total of 8 Weeks starting from today with the main theme of "Urban Ecology Management and Its Implications on Climate Change Resilience".

This year the MCL campaign will run for 8 weeks starting from 1st August 2008, with challenge titled “Unstainable urban Ecology Management”. Parallel with this, there will be intensive practical oriented Q GIS course offered to the finalist students in collaboration with @OMDTZ
