@heroesahead I highly recommend “Watch It For Days” on YouTube for in depth Columbo reviews. She does a fantastic job and points out many things that you never noticed.
@heroesahead A drain fly is very distinct. They look like the flies in Donkey Kong III. I am sure that you saw them in your restaurant days. The key to getting rid of them is to eliminate the slime in your drain.
@heroesahead Not that it helps her case but the drunk driving scenario would be if the other driver was also drunk and the car crash would not have occurred if both drivers were sober.
I thought the most fascinating thing about that show was how the audience came to realize how evil Walter was at different times. Some realized it almost immediately and some stayed in denial through the end. One other note is that the show changed from a dark comedy in the beginning to simply dark.
@SandyofCthulhu I really like "Any Old Port in a Storm." His relationship with Columbo was great. One of my favorite episodes (plus you get to see what a first class lounge in an airplane looked like in the early 70's.)
I really thought that Stranger Things season 2 was their opportunity to break away from the binge model. It had a big enough following for watch parties if they had done a weekly prime time release. Imagine people watching it together! As it is, I have questioned the viability of the streaming model which requires new content that is consumed in a couple of days after release. So while they killed account sharing, the binge model makes them very vulnerable to intermittent subscription/cancellation/subscription. When reach near saturation, the underlying problems become more apparent.
@CynicalPublius@infantrydort One of my favorite civil war generals but if you read his and Grant’s memoirs, you’ll understand why people talk about how great Grant’s were.
