@NeedlesOnNews I would not be surprised to see Doug take a run for PM if he has the opportunity. He's closer to Carney or Harper than Polieve. But who knows.
@BenDurhamCAN I'm fortunate there is a grocery store within walking distance close to a bike path with a new bike stand in the lot. However I did go to the Loblaws on Wonderland once and that wasn't great. Luckily there are 2 grocery stores I can comfortably bike to. Will listen later
@wvrent@st3v3turn3r I was in Toronto yesterday and saw lots of people cycling (especially on Bloor). I dont even see a world where you do anything beyond turning the bike lanes into parking spots as there seems to be really limited space to actually add a lane there. Maybe we take some sidewalks too
@NeedlesOnNews I was hoping for a high speed rail announcement to deal with congestion... not add more lanes to the highway but underground. Why not just twin the entire highway with an overpass.
What the heck. We want to explore building an express road/tunnel under current highways but not high speed rail to address gridlock. Adding more cars won't fix this problem.
@JamiesonRoberts@carastern@MikePMoffatt@meredithmartin@YouTube In 2008 when I bought my house, there were 40 year mortgages. Granted in London I believe average house prices were in the mid 200's so giving someone younger an extra 10 years wasn't such a huge hit on interest as with today's costs. Interest costs will be massive today.
@NeedlesOnNews@JamiesonRoberts I have also expensed cabs to the station or maybe they expensed parking at the station for those days. I can see how that would get it up there.
@NeedlesOnNews I saw the email and immediately thought of you and @kellyelliottmcm. Agreed it's time for him to move on (forcefully or not). This is no different than LHSC having to make some changes to properly support our community.
@jmccall54 Last year my son had no end of the year trip (gr 7) and my daughter went to east park (gr 6) but no water activities as they couldn't get sign off on "high risk"... we clearly have the right focus π
@BenDurhamCAN@Abbi_Lez I also think most of us would gladly hop on high speed rail from London to Toronto/Montreal/etc. Many drive to the Go and take it into Toronto today. Makes sense to remove that extra hop.
@BenDurhamCAN@annettecann I have similar complaints when I tried Southdale and Wonderland to get groceries once. Maybe it's just me but didn't feel great.
@MikePMoffatt@kellyziegner@TVCCfamily My sister took two of her younger kids here in London (came from out of town). Unsure if they can help your situation but might be worth a call. https://t.co/1W9Amn29sg Her kids are 4 and 7. I know the 4 year old required sedation for a procedure.
@MikePMoffatt People think policy changes of today will have immediate effect when it could be 5+ years before we see the value of certain changes. My general sense from the 40+ crowd is they arnt affected by housing costs so they don't care (may change when their kid is still home until 35).
@NeedlesOnNews I also find these lots are super predatory (don't list rates, etc). I parked at one in April and was charged $35 for 2 hours of parking while I had dinner at a downtown restaurant. First and last time at that lot (this was on carling).
@kellyelliottmcm I dont normally wade into this dumpster fire. But sending positive vibes your way. People are too polarized into right/wrong yes/no left/right and unwilling to accept the grey that is society / decisions / politicis. Unfortunately, women take the brunt of this. But your awesome!
@NeedlesOnNews@mattgurney I mean if nothing else they should also cut Netflix and their Avacoda Toast. I've heard doing that for 12 months you can afford a house (6 hours north of Weyburn).
@BenDurhamCAN@JamiesonRoberts My kids walk most days but when they have anything heavy or a potluck day I grab the bike toss all their stuff off and ita door to door service faster then trying to find a parking spot for our van.
