@DsrPrivate Thanks. My initial thought was high real yields typically is bad for gold/commodities but missed the balanced risk aspect. I know your view on the semis bubble but do you currently view RoW equities unattractively for that balance? Excluding outliers like korea obviously...
@DsrPrivate I would agree. The alpha is in the synthesis of the information, not the access. I don't think AI would have been table pounding the income driven expansion in late 22 & 23 with you and Bob, even with all the information. Though it would perfectly explain it after the fact.
@DsrPrivate To your first point, does alpha always have to be persistent to be considered alpha? Can't some people have alpha in specific areas/fields during certain periods of time? Does your QRA alpha not count just because some quarters it doesn't matter as an example?
@DsrPrivate FWIW, I always thought your blotter reviews did a great job bridging your views with your positions. That said, I haven't been confused on your views.
@DsrPrivate Does it matter in the bigger picture how much of that capex increase is coming from higher priced goods (memory, etc) vs a true increased capacity buildout?
How I choose options for the damped spring portfolio 101?
This is a fairly narrow 101 because I will focus on how I use options for my portfolio. There are endless options strategies for investors to consider and I would be happy to address specific strategies in future 101's
@DsrPrivate If IORB caught them by surprise, it wasn't their reason for the Fed balance sheet increasing. Did they give their reasoning? I.e. they'll buy mbs to lower mortgage rates? That seems like the least consensus call.
