@JMooreP3@StephenFleming whether or not feds were unionized, there would be telework agreements in place between teleworking employees and their employers. the inertia here is not about unions, its b/c those agreements have legal weight and an EO that ignores them will just get chewed up in the courts.
@lernersr1@StephenFleming teleworking employees have telework agreements that include guarantees that they won't be ordered back into the office at random. those agreements have legal weight. you can't just make them disappear with a snap of the fingers.
@markpoling@mattyglesias and something that requires recusal for a conflict of interest (has to be made by VP in those cases)
up to the courts whether a pardon has to be overturned because a recusal was necessary and not done.
Pam Hemphill, a J6er who has since expressed serious regret for what she did, says she will not accept a pardon from President Trump.
“I committed a crime.”
Jeff Yass, CCP-friendly billionaire co-owner of the app, had a private meeting with Trump and wrote a check, causing Trump to switch positions and much of MAGA followed suit
That’s literally it
@KenKirtland17 there's no reason tiktok can't stay open. the Chinese government just has to give up control.
they would rather close it down than let it be sold off to someone they can't control, because it's purpose is something other than making money.
Fun fact: After viewing classified material about the CCP's influence on TikTok, the bill to ban TikTok passed committee with a 50-0 vote. Fifty to zero, MAGA + centrists + DSA members were unanimous.
All the accounts bemoaning this seem totally incurious why that might be.
