@ambermac oil and gas subsidies in Canada are often less like a direct cheque and more like tax advantages, cheaper financing, public risk-taking, infrastructure support, royalty relief, fuel-tax reductions and taxpayer-funded cleanup
If this officer was indeed killed while investigating the March pro-IRGC Islamist terror attack on the U.S. Consulate, it is a terrorist act. #topoli#cdnpoli#onpoli
@Reil76 Australia's experience should be a cautionary tale -- kids were banned from mainstream apps and serices and went to into the dark side of the web, to apps that are unmonitored, to sites that explicitly target the young. Deal with the algo's and content in the open.
@CP24 In Australia's experience all this did was force kids off of mainstream social media and into the dark recesses of the internet. They should be addressing the problem with the content rather than blanket bans.
Political correctness and maybe anti-semitism gets in the way of actually releasing details of a crime. The place of worship attacked were Jewish synagogues.
We are investigating two recent incidents in which a south-end place of worship has been defaced with hate-related graffiti: https://t.co/CURygKePSE #Guelph
I grew up in what was once a great city: Toronto. Under its current leadership, it has become a hotbed of Islamism, political radicalism, and Jew hatred.
This is yet another egregious example.
Toronto is on a path toward becoming Canada’s Malmö.
@Canada4Europe This is dangerously naive. An oil-driven trade surplus doesn’t replace CUSMA. Nearly 70% of Canadian exports go to the U.S., and our supply chains run north-south. Diversify, yes. But “let the chips fall” isn’t strategy — it’s asking workers to absorb the damage.
I'd be surprised Olivia Chow advocates for a soccer referee linked to the designated terror group al-Qaeda if it weren't for the fact that her campaign is run by the people who advocate for the designated terror group IRGC.

@JeanLucMarches1 Wow -- let all join in a cicle and sing. The Bank of Canada holding rates again while the economy stagnates is the bill coming due after 10 years of federal policy built on borrowing, spending, inflated GDP growth, and weak productivity.
@CTVNews The Bank of Canada holding rates again while the economy stagnates is the bill coming due after 10 years of federal policy built on borrowing, spending, inflated GDP growth, and weak productivity.
A bigger economy means little when Canadians are poorer per person.

@kinsellawarren as it should nothing but a white elephant in the making -- it does not meet minimum ridership requirements. Little more than a political pork barrel project.
@gator_gum As they found out in Australia this is little more than political virtue signaling. The affected youth within days was back on, sometimes with the help of their parents. Better way is to monitor content and even that is hugely problematic.
@jec79 This a point in time statistic -- the inference you are making are silly. Labour market is still not especially strong: StatCan notes the unemployment rate has remained above its 2017–2019 pre-pandemic average of 6.0% since spring 2024.

@kinsellawarren The committee is just a look we are doing something while doing nothing strategy. But the fact they could not even get the membership to at least look as if they might actually achieve something says it all. anti-Semitism runs deep in today's LPC.
