@williamsdthird @RasineIrem If we have to do something to gain salvation, we can also do something to lose it. What makes us earn salvation isn't right living and what will make us lose it isn't sin.
We can work out of salvation by renouncing the faith in Christ.

Let me tell you guys something. Everything you see happening with Morocco is not a fluke. They’re conscious about their growth.

You see that man the players were throwing up at the end, his name is Fouzi Lekjaa, he’s their football federation president, he’s one of the major guys behind their transformation.

Let me tell you few of their strategies.

Around 2009, they started by building state-of-the-art facilities across the country, no embezzlement, nobody stole the money for their personal gain.

The goal was for every child to have access to a facility, no matter where they are. In fact, they built some facilities that had multiple pitches, world class pitches brethren.

They mandated their league teams to also maintain their academies. Some of those young boys from various academies were part of the players that won the u20 World Cup last year. That’s one of the things Fouzi Lekjaa did. It starts with the youth.

Many of the teams also have women team, it was a mandate. That’s why you see their women’s league growing , as well as the women national team. They played the final with Nigeria last two years or so. They’ll start winning it soon.

It didn’t stop there, they’ve become so attractive that players in diaspora with Moroccan heritage can play for them. You can be eligible to play for France or England and you will choose Morocco, as it stands, because they’re not a small team anymore. They’re very attractive.

Those state of the art facilities are now being used to host tournaments, they’ve hosted many in recent years including the last AFCON. In 4 years’ time, they’ll host a World Cup. This is a country that took their growth seriously. They have a great leadership.

The good thing about them taking this seriously is that their country is now known. I have a colleague at work who has gone to Morocco on holiday more than 3 times. The tourism has greatly improved, they’re now making money from all angles. Other businesses are thriving. A leadership that has vision, not the one that wants us to fry akara.

Nothing happens by fluke brethren. Nothing.

In multiple epistles, the Apostle Paul warns saints--not pagans--that those who live according to the flesh will reap corruption & death [Gal. 5:19-21; 6:7-8; Rom. 8:12-13]. His warnings are addressed to believers, not unbelievers.

Peter likewise warns those who have escaped the pollutions of the world that returning to them leaves their latter end worse than their beginning [2 Pet. 2:20-22]. John teaches that no one who abides in Christ continues in sin [1 John 3:6-10], & Jude condemns those who turn the grace of God into lasciviousness [Jude 4]. The theme runs throughout Scripture.

In Revelation, Christ tells the church in Sardis: "He that overcometh... I will not blot out his name out of the book of life" [Rev. 3:5]. The promise only makes sense if the possibility being warned against is real. Their names were already in the Book, yet perseverance was required.

Likewise, Christ warns the church of Laodicea that He will spew them out of His mouth if they remain lukewarm [Rev. 3:15-16]. They were in His mouth--in covenant fellowship with Him--yet could be rejected if they refused to repent.

"Once saved, always saved" is a perversion of Calvin's "perseverance of the saints" doctrine. The latter teaches that true believers persevere in faith & holiness; the former is often reduced to the idea that a person can't forfeit salvation regardless of persistent rebellion & unbelief.

Scripture repeatedly teaches that a saint who persists in sin & abandons the faith can cease to be numbered among the saints [Heb. 3:12-14; 10:26-29; etc]. On this point, I believe Pastor Lawal is correct.

"Once saved, always saved" turns the grace of God into lasciviousness & stands dangerously close to the very error condemned in Jude 4.

If you're looking for someone to debate the issue, I'm here. Though, judging from our previous interactions, I'm not holding my breath.

Six reasons I can't go back to Islam.

1. The Quran repeatedly affirms the Torah that existed in the 7th century. Today, thanks to the Dead Sea Scrolls, we know that Torah is substantially the same Torah we have now.

2. The Quran retells stories of the prophets, but many of those details resemble Jewish oral traditions and Midrash rather than the Torah itself.

3. The claim that Abraham and Ishmael built the Kaaba has no clear historical or archaeological evidence behind it.

4. The Kaaba was never God's first sanctuary. Long before Islam, Scripture describes God's tabernacle, His presence, His covenant, and His instructions for worship.

5. Islam removes the biblical system of atonement. No mercy seat. No sacrifice. No Ark of the Covenant. Which leaves me asking: how is sin ultimately dealt with?

6. Jesus. Not as a theological concept. As a living Savior. I encountered Him. He pulled me out of performance-based religion and gave me peace I never found through striving.

You can debate doctrine all day.

But I can't unsee what I've seen.

I can't unknow what I've learned.

And I can't walk away from the One who changed my life.

No turning back.
