@MarkUrban01 This is the US version of events. It's not clear whether the US has genuinely found a way through or whether Iran is just allowing it for now, perhaps because its own oil is getting out.
@BarbaraRich_law Barbara, many of us think you're great, and please disregard anything you hear from one of the worst people on the internet, although I'm sure you're doing that already.
@policytensor Can you explain what you mean by "control" and "authority"? They have whatever ability to block it they demonstrate in practice irrespective of any agreement. Do you mean a governance role? The ability to collect fees? Is a governance role only with no fees ruled out by the US?
@policytensor@Afzal_Fab Also - the US appears to be trying to push ships through the Oman route and they are being shot at. Is Oman allowing this while simultaneously "agreeing" a deal to give Iran control? (Is this all just a complete mess...?)
@policytensor@Afzal_Fab Thank you for replying. It's extremely confusing. I understand they won't be able to live with bans on the US and Israel. What about the earlier rumours of Iran controlling inbound traffic - do you mean the US was never on board with that (but stayed quiet because oil price?)
@jessesingal He's helping Cambridge decolonise its traditional Western canon and instead integrate black and minority ethnic academics. Cambridge needs to be less Isaac Newton and more Jason Arday.
@policytensor They have already clearly demonstrated control of Hormuz in the sense of being able to shut it down. Do they really need to ask for formal control of Omani territorial waters and fees on top? Can't they just ask for a load of $$ delivered in some other way?
@BNHWalker "not a human argument" if you totally disregard the white British, who never asked for or wanted mass unskilled immigration, and who are told to bear the costs and cultural change without their consent.
@LabourAlexB What about the rights of the British people? We never asked for mass unskilled immigration, or wanted it, and it is ruinously expensive. But apparently we don't have any rights - we just have to pay for it against our will?
