BREAKING: Independent Senator Angus King obliterates MAGA oligarch Elon Musk and Trump's Treasury Secretary for their corrupt "assault" on Social Security — and destroys the lie that American retirees don't need their checks.

The gloves are really coming off now...

"I never thought I’d say this, but social security is under assault,” King stated in a video on X.

"Every day we learn something new, where Elon Musk and his crowd are in the Social Security databases," he continued. "They’re trying to get personal information. They are pushing aside the professionals that work there. People are being fired. Regional offices are being closed."

King pointed to Treasury Secretary Howard Lutnick's jaw-dropping claim that retirees won't "complain" if Social Security "didn’t send out their checks this month," an absurd claim since Social Security keeps millions of Americans above the poverty line.

"Well, I’m sorry, but there are people across the country, if that check doesn’t come, they’re in trouble,” said Senator King . "Medications, food, rent. There are millions of people in this country that Social Security check makes all the difference."

"And what worries me is that what we’re seeing is a kind of slow motion — actually, it’s not that slow motion, it’s pretty fast — undermining of the structure of Social Security,” he added.

In 1960, 35% of Americans aged 65 and older lived below the poverty line. Thanks to Social Security, that number had dropped to 8.9% by 2019. If Musk and Trump gut this system, countless elderly Americans will spend their final years impoverished on our streets.

Musk has smeared Social Security as "the biggest Ponzi scheme of all time" but all of these MAGA efforts are part of a transparent scheme to loot the life-saving program and funnel even more wealth to billionaires.

It's never enough for these people. It doesn't matter how much suffering and death they inflict on innocent people so long as they can add a few more zeroes to their net worths.
