🇬🇪 We reaffirm our unwavering support for Georgia’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.

⚫️ Russia continues its aggressive policies, including the unprovoked and unjustified war against Ukraine 🇺🇦, reckless and dangerous actions against its neighbors. Accountability is needed more urgent than ever!

⚫️ 18 years after Russia’s aggression against Georgia, regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali/South Ossetia are still under illegal occupation.

‼️ We call on Russia to fully implement the EU 🇪🇺‑mediated 2008 Ceasefire Agreement, including the immediate withdrawal of its forces from Georgian territory.

🇬🇪Delivered statement at the UNGA Plenary Meeting on the Responsibility to Protect (R2P). Emphasized the vital importance of strengthening our collective commitment to international law, early warning mechanisms, and the UN Charter to prevent mass atrocities and protect vulnerable populations worldwide.

I drew attention to the protracted humanitarian challenges in Georgia's Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions occupied by Russian Federation. I also noted that the recent illegal so-called "administrative agreement" and developments continue to complicate regional stability and impact the fundamental rights of IDPs and local communities.

To translate R2P principles into concrete action, Georgia reaffirms its support for the ACT Code of Conduct and initiatives on UN Security Council veto restraint.
