@Jake_W I wonder how this plays out. One seat GOP senate. Razor close house with a tiny majority either way. I'm pretty sure no major legislation that will transform the state will be passed. All budget stuff. Maybe best for GA for now.
@Jake_W It will be interesting to see how the legislature falls. At this count the GOP leads in 29 senate districts. Not sure about the house. Gridlock would be good
@Jake_W Outside the metro. When you meet local politicians they seem more grounded. People in elected office with party labels that don't match their stances.A bit of a prophylactic against extreme partisanship.
@Jake_W No matter what happens it feels like this state will be split on a knife edge. No one having a true advantage either way. I do wonder when Trump leaves the stage will the ATL suburbs swing a bit away from the Ds in the future.
@Jake_W Why is the GOP freaking out. E Erickson is sounding the alarm but at the same time I keep hearing its close, polls etc. Is everyone reading too much into early voting? Also being in Augusta it feels like whatever happens won't affect us much.
@Jake_W@OldFaithful1176@MatthewLGunning I recall in summer seeing an article mentioning KLB making the rounds in rural GA. It makes sense to try to stay par in the rurals b/c as much as having a D by her name her ATL tenure will be a factor in the metro.
@JasonCorley78 I was just eyeballing everything and noticing how the campaigns are being run so a lucky guess? Looks like Jackson is keeping from the bottom falling out for the GA GOP.
@JasonCorley78 One thing that seems to be clear last few cycles is GA voters don't like statewide candidates with baggage. The environment can keep you close, Walker 22 comes to mind but Collins has had dumb problems. KLB can't force get past 20 and her mayorship.
@JasonCorley78 Thank you. Jackson seems to be running for Kemp 3rd term. Collins is doing what I expected Jones to be doing if he had won the Gov primary. The fact that Jones didn't win causes me to think any major shifts are delayed for a while.
@Jake_W@taruscarolina@anima0119 I live in CC and the driving force at this time is don't make it Richmond county. If there is a change its due to normal drift of suburban voters to the left.
@Jake_W I do wonder if the Jackson money is going to sitting GOP state senators to boost early voting in GOP areas. Can't be by chance that a relatively obscure state senator could have extra funds to send campaign texts.
@Jake_W I do think it is interesting that I got 3 texts from GOP linked groups to vote early. One from Rick Jackson's PAC today . One from the NRA yesterday, one from a local GOP state senator. I can't remember in 22 or 24 that happening GOP groups doing that
@KurtSchlichter Stop it Kurt. As a fellow lawyer your commitment to going off a cliff is amazing. Trump is wrong. You trying to make it right is not. Stop using I trained Ukrainians as a shield for lousy takes.
@Jake_W@BanUnsweetTea The difference is both Ossoff and Jackson are making a case to be in office. Collins and Bottoms act like they deserve to be elected with Jackson acting more like an incumbent. Just my read
@varadmehta Election forecasts are the 80s psychics that were celebrated on TV in the 80s. The skeptics were made to be mean-spirited and some were. When confronted by results, commonsense they faded. What is clear the Rs are in trouble, but any certainty as how bad is just a guess.
@Jake_W Theory. We are now in a post communications world. The defense to not be plugged in is to disengage and those who wish to do so are eager. In non politics its influencers, reels, etc. Politics its responding to polls. The data we have doesn't match reality or history.
@Jake_W@RedFlorida2008@lucasdrayton@BanUnsweetTea Got a D mailer disguised as a newspaper. All the attacks against Jackson were not Trump related. Contacts, Abortion, but no Trump Seems Jackson is a callback to preDJT and why the race seems is taking place in a different world.
