There is NO SUCH THING as £60k in benefits.
The benefit cap is £23k, and £25k if you live in London.

Helen Whately however, doesn’t have a benefit cap and claims £39k EVERY YEAR on rent from the taxpayer and the list of expenses below. In 3 years the expenses amount to £521,655.79
Plus the additional £39k for each of those 3 years for her rent.

This doesn’t even cover all of it.
So no, households on £23k a year are not the problem.

£71,000 ? People on benefits are capped so they can only get a certain amount and is basically pittance anyway. Most people on benefits are in work and need the benefits to stop up their wages. Wages are not in correlation with rising prices/costs. So shut it Claire. 🤦🏻‍♀️🫪😂

The benefit cap exists, so no one on benefits can just receive whatever mad figure you lot want to throw out. From what I can see on https://t.co/eNnVp7VU8A, the cap is around £25k a year in London for couples or single parents with children, and around £22k outside London, so please show us where this £71k figure has come from.

Show us the maths. Show us the source. Show us exactly where you got your information.

I am sick of you Tories trying to cause a divide. The whole point of attacking benefits is to pitch the working class against the poorest, when the truth is many working people need benefits because your government helped stagnate wages while everything went up in price.
