We are innately wired to worship. Some will worship God, others will worship themselves, their careers/jobs, family, material things, or success; We all worship.
When someone has been hurt by the church or its members, telling them they should be going for God is invalidating. Church is very much about community.
Grief is complicated when the person you lost was the center of your identity. It makes living without them difficult to know who you are now that they're gone. If who you were was "caregiver" losing the person you cared for can momentarily feel like you have no purpose/identity.
Despite the advocacy & awareness, statements like "I don't believe in therapy" are spoken daily by millions. Here's the thing, therapy isn't a belief to subscribe to. It isn't just talking to a stranger & therefore a waste of time. It's the realization that life can be different.
#spiritualabuse is present in every #faith. Some groups get more media attention for views/likes. The #faithful subscribe to a set of beliefs for their creed/God. The answer isn't to curse all faith. It's to be the difference and subscribe to the #God not it's #followers
