Estonia 🇪🇪 has once again been ranked the world’s most environmentally friendly country, topping the Environmental Performance Index by @Yale and @Columbia for the second time.

By cutting emissions, scaling renewable energy, and accelerating clean‑tech innovation, Estonia demonstrates that ambitious climate action can be both strategic and achievable.

The climate crisis is not only an environmental challenge, it is a growing security threat that will shape geopolitics, economic stability, and global resilience. Acting now is a responsibility we all share.

Long‑term security requires diversified energy sources, sustained investment in sustainability, and deeper international cooperation.

These are the foundations of a resilient and secure future.

Estonia 🇪🇪 is contributing an additional 125 000 euros to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, bringing our total support to 2.75 million euros.

As Russia intensifies its strikes against Ukraine’s 🇺🇦 energy infrastructure, reinforcing the protection of energy facilities and bolstering the resilience of supply is essential.

Estonia has been a consistent supporter of Ukraine’s energy sector, providing over 3  million euros in donations, equipment and technical assistance to help keep critical systems running.

Estonia 🇪🇪 is contributing 100,000 euros to the @ITF_Forum Ukraine Transport Support Fund, becoming one of the first countries to do so.

The UTSF strengthens the recovery and resilience of Ukraine’s 🇺🇦 civil transport system, supporting the restoration of railways, roads, ports as well as logistics and mobility.

At a time when critical infrastructure remains a primary target of Russia’s aggression, every contribution that reinforces Ukraine’s connectivity and deterrence capacity matters.

With its commitment to international law, leadership in clean tech and innovation, and expanding renewable energy sector, the NB8 region is well placed to help guide Europe’s climate agenda.

The images shared by extremist Minister Ben-Gvir showing the humiliating treatment of detained Flotilla activists are shocking and unacceptable.

All detainees must be treated with dignity and in full respect of human rights and international law, including maritime and humanitarian law.

We remain deeply concerned about the humanitarian situation in Gaza, and sustained, unhindered humanitarian aid must be allowed to enter.

Diplomatic efforts must continue to restore the Gaza peace plan, ensure access for aid, and uphold international law and human dignity.

At today’s #G7+ Ukraine Energy Support Group meeting in Berlin, I highlighted 🇪🇪 increased contributions to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund during the last heating season, our pledge to financially support the restoration of #Chornobyl NSC, and the next #URC2027 in Tallinn.

At the Baltic Sea Strategy Forum, I stressed that our region needs a bigger vision for regional connectivity: the Tallinn-Helsinki tunnel should be seen as a strategic corridor extending toward the Arctic Ocean, connecting it more directly with wider Europe and integrating it into a broader trans-European transport network.

Security is a precondition for growth and wellbeing. That means stronger defence, sustained support for Ukraine, tougher sanctions on Russia, and accountability through a tribunal.

The Baltic Sea region is a global-scale economic area powered by education and innovation - from NB8 cooperation to new industrial and tech hubs like Ida-Virumaa.
