Next I’d like to congratulate @GetUpCDA and @CDAREC for the campaign, all of y’all had amazing platforms and policy. I hope that you all will continue to work together to keep making this organization great for everyone.
Thank you to everyone who supported us, @CollegeDems, @CDAElections, and @CDAREC! As we walk away from these elections let's remember pluralism.
Do you want to beat the GOP in VA and 2022? Keep accepting more than one idea. Makes them absolutely crazy. That's how we win.
Announcing the results of the College Democrats of America 2021 National Elections:
President Jalen L. Miller
Vice President Nourhan Mesbah
National Council Chair Anushka Hassan
National Council Vice Chair Solomon Balaam-Reed
National Council Secretary Jason Park
A sincere thank you to all of you. We are incredibly appreciative of all that you do. The drive and passion that you put in never goes unnoticed. It has been amazing to work with all of you.
And with that, families can argue. But at the end of the day, like any family, we all come together at the end of the day, break bread, and lift each other up with the love we all have for one another.
The future is a bright one, regardless of the results.
Much love, @GetUpCDA
We took a few hours to break from social media, but we do want to reiterate what we said last week.
No matter what we plan to work with the amazing folks over at CDA Reconnected. We all want one thing - to see the org we call home grow & live up to its greatest potential.
There’s a beauty to the idea of contested elections. It raises the level of public debate and becomes centered on ideas and vision.
It’s great to see @CollegeDems at the point where we are able to have elections w/ so many people passionate about the org and it’s members.
The fact we now have an organization where so many people have even more amazing ideas on where they want to see CDA go next is beautiful.
CDA still has a long way to go, but we have also made great strides. We have become an org worth fighting for and we have become a family.
@CDAREC and @GetUpCDA, we’re excited to be working with you both—regardless of election outcomes—to strengthen and rejuvenate our party at the college-level! Both slates presented some amazing ideas and promises that future administrations should take notice of!
What an election that took place! We a are proud of everyone who ran in this race, whether you were on @GetUpCDA , @CDAREC , or you were running as an independent!
We know that no matter who wins each campaign, you all are gonna make CDA better for everyone!
Both the @CDAREC and the @GetUpCDA slates provided excellent ideas and plans for CDA and the future of this organization.
No matter who ends up winning, we are comforted by the fact that CDA will be in good hands lead by passionate leaders. ❤️🤠
We are excited to see the outcome of the election no matter who wins! The point of elections is to exchange ideas, have solid civil debates and build up the party!
We hope that all slates @CDAREC and @GetUpCDA continue to work together to build a stronger CDA! 1/2
💜💛 Thank you to @CDAElections and the outgoing exec for making these elections fair and accessible!
And thank you to everyone in CDA! This org is a home for us because of the people who are in it.
Now we rest, recharge and wait.
We're excited to share the results of the national election with you, but first we want to make sure the results are correct.
Details about what's next:
On behalf of @CollegeDems, we want to acknowledge every delegate and member who voted in our national elections — from casting a ballot for National President to Caucus Chairs.
Thank you for being part of college Democrats family.
