NEW: Memphis woman who sh*t another woman after group kicked down her door will NOT be charged
21-year-old Kimari Burnham was critically injured and taken to Regional One Health
Investigators say Burnham, Dejwan Payne, and Nala Kelley showed up uninvited to the home
"According to evidence and witness statements, the suspects began banging on the front door and threatening the occupant inside," Memphis police said
Deputies said that Kelley and Burnham kicked down the front door to the home, knocking it off its hinges
"The resident, fearing for her safety and the safety of her children, discharged a single round from a handgun, striking Burnham."
Authorities confirmed the evidence supports the resident’s claim of self-defense, and she will not face charges
All three suspects—Burnham, Kelley, and Payne—have been charged with aggravated burglary
Burnham and Kelley also face misdemeanor vandalism charges
