The passage of the Gujarat Jan Vishwas (Provisions Amendment) Bill-2025 in the Assembly today marks a major step towards legal ease, transparency and trust-based governance in the State.

The Bill decriminalises 516 provisions across 11 laws of 6 departments, replacing imprisonment & fines with rational monetary penalties. It provides relief from unforeseen criminal liabilities for minor errors, filing delays, license renewals and safety violations — reducing judicial burden while empowering businesses, startups and MSMEs.

This landmark reform strengthens Gujarat’s mantra of ‘Ease of Doing Business’ and ‘Earning Well – Living Well’, while reinforcing the bridge of trust between citizens and government.

Guided by Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi Ji’s vision of ‘Maximum Governance, Minimum Government’, Gujarat continues to lead reforms for inclusive and progressive governance.
