Bombshell avocado oil study just dropped

A team out of UC Davis (Selina Wang's lab) pulled avocado- and olive-oil-based processed foods off California shelves and ran them through the lab.
Genuine avocado oil and olive oil should be mostly oleic acid, a monounsaturated fat, and carry very little linoleic acid ~10% at most. The cheap oils most often used to cut them, soybean, sunflower, canola, are the mirror image.

93% of the chips and other products failed to confirm a normal avocado oil signature

They confirmed these concerning signatures with sterol profiles and cis-vaccenic acid, a second independent fingerprint of seed-oil adulteration

Whether this is dubious, or yet again more companies not vetting suppliers, is unknown.
