There's another way to look at this. Being hard as it is to make it in this country, through grit and determination some finally make it. Build a business, start working on a house, sending kids to school, and CREATING JOBS. Everything is still shaky as any slight disruption can collapse all your accomplishments. You are up to your ass in debts but slowly you move forward, hoping tomorrow presents more opportunities for you to seize. Some days you're lucky, other days you're not. But you remain hopeful. You keep pushing. You are investing in projects that may materialize in a few years, etc. You are keeping your fingers crossed.
In comes some people who say they desperately want political change. Being the banana republic that we are, the powers that be aren't too open to that idea so they make peaceful transition hard. This make some even more desperate in their quest for change to the extent that they now openly declare violent protest and armed insurrection is not off the table. In some cases it is openly encouraged. The regime, predictably, issues counter threats and even begins preemptively arresting people. Not good.
If you are the man I described in the beginning, all this will make you nervous. In principle you may even be a supporter of political transition. But when you look at the political reality of your country, you struggle to see it happening peacefully.
Naturally you will not be keen on life being over turned through a potential violent political disruption, and thus will most likely try to encourage a more peaceful approach to engaging with the regime, while encouraging the regime to be more willing to compromise.
Of course it's hard to tell if it'll work, but it seems way more sensible than advocating for anarchy, regardless of how you feel about the government.
The discussion on this tends to be one sided on social media because the people in this camp are busy out there earning a living, unlike the tens of thousands of the unemployed and underemployed in addition to activists and political actors who rabble rouse for a living - who have all the time in the world to dedicate to arguing on social media. In some cases this is even their job. This creates an insular bubble in which these people think everyone agrees with them, yet that's quite far from the truth.
Point is, you're trying to imply that those who have found success (or are even just managing/surviving somehow) are to be viewed with suspicion, instead of being celebrated. Why? Because apparently they're not keen to see the country burn down in the name of political change, as you are. So you deem them the bad guys, or as you say, "regime apologist"
Hahahahaha.
Many of us don't care who the next president will be, whoever it is,we expect the same old cycle of lies, corruption and authoritarianism. This is Africa.
We just don't want our lives disrupted in service of political agendas. And this criticism applies to this regime too. They were wrong to wage war in 1980.
Stop using the citizens as pawns in your chess game.
All of you.
Max Verstappen takes his EIGHTH win of 2025!
It's not enough to secure him the title, but he ends the year with more wins than anyone else, and just TWO points shy of a fifth straight title 👏

I am dead serious. Deep down, this tiny rule is the cog in many methods. Ones that you use every day.
Here is what it is, how it works, and why it is essential:

@SpireJim I was studying music for four years being taught by this great man Rev. Fr. Dr. Joseph Namukangula. He used to give us 15 minutes before starting to his lessons just observing us and asking us to concetrate. The values picked up apply today in my life. NO ONE CAN FORGET KASAJJA
Nine sources of advantage:
1. Raw talent/intelligence - Some people are just naturally better and smarter.
2. Hard work - Some people work harder.
3. Different - Seeing the world differently. Doing something different. Reading different books. Interpreting the same information differently.
4. Process / Discipline / Rules - Creating a process and following it. Working out every day is a great example.
5. Talent Collector - The ability to find/hire/retain the best people AND get the most out of them.
6. Patience - A lack of patience changes the outcome. Can add endurance to this (and 7).
7. Ability to take pain - Are you willing to look like an idiot to get better? How much risk are you willing to take, AND, importantly, can you handle the losses?
8. Temperament - Keeping your head when everyone else is losing theirs.
9. Luck
