Assassin in search of a parasite. Part of by Jen Southern & Rod Dillon.

[Ghost_horde @GhostHorde]

I am its death.

[Ghost_horde @GhostHorde]

I have come for my target, Leishmania.

[Ghost_horde @GhostHorde]

Does it hear the message of my arrival, like a creak on the floor, a latch turning?

[Ghost_horde @GhostHorde]

Slip into their phagolysosome rooms.

[Ghost_horde @GhostHorde]

I seek out their macrophage homes.

[Ghost_horde @GhostHorde]

In the nooks of spleen and crannies of marrow.

[Ghost_horde @GhostHorde]

Seeking out my parasite targets hiding in the grain of the liver.

[Ghost_horde @GhostHorde]

Attacks of enzymes at every step.

[Ghost_horde @GhostHorde]

They try to break me as I pass.

[Ghost_horde @GhostHorde]

The acids and bases determine where I can pass though.

[Ghost_horde @GhostHorde]

A permeating harbinger?

[Ghost_horde @GhostHorde]

Am I a ghost horde as I pass through the gastrointestinal tract?

[Ghost_horde @GhostHorde]

I am multiple.

[Ghost_horde @GhostHorde]

That’s when I spread out, changing from a single pill into an army of assassins.

[Ghost_horde @GhostHorde]

I slide down the oesophagus, keeping myself together until I reach the stomach.

[Ghost_horde @GhostHorde]

Getting in is the easy part.
