Never before have so many Americans been outside the labor force:

The number of Americans who are not in the labor force rose by +832,000 in June, to 105.8 million, an all-time high.

These are people who are neither employed nor actively looking for work.

This is now 2.2 million above the 2020 pandemic peak, when the global economy was shut down.

So far in 2026, 2.5 million Americans have exited the labor force.

By comparison, 68.7 million Americans were not in the labor force at the beginning of this century.

As a % of the population aged 16+, this figure is up to 38.5%, the highest since the 1970s, excluding the pandemic period.

The US job market is weak under the surface.

At 16 we had stuff to go do like jobs

Now all entry level is failed boomers (can you imagine failing life on easy mode?) and illegals

At 16 I could pack my Ford Escort full of homies and cruise

Banned to have that many teens in a car now until 18

At 16 I could go to the mall

Now most of them are closed due to online commerce or theft, and the open ones are dirty 3rd world havens

At 16 gas was .99-1.20 a gallon and I made 10 bucks an hour, my first car was 500 bucks (in great running condition)

Now its 4.30 a gallon, cars similar to what I had are 10k, and wages are about 13 bucks an hour

At 16 we had gathering areas like parks with basketball hoops

Now, homeless people camp there and do fentanyl and other things

At 16 I could go to a movie and eat popcorn and coke until I burst

That's about 40 or 50 bucks now, minus gas

At 16 I could stroll through any store or restaurant

Now I would be an "unaccompanied minor" and be asked to leave per the signs all over town

But boy I just can't put my finger on why those pesky kids don't wanna get on out there🤣

The world is shit for kids and 99.9% of entertainment is online where they are ALLOWED to be

The only other option is outdoors stuff in rural areas like fishing or hunting

But once again, licenses are triple, gas etc. you can't even get into a state park here without a sticker🤣

You can actually watch white xenophilia disappearing in real time. We were once the most curious people on the planet. Direct contact via mass immigration and indirect contact via the Internet has ripped off the veil of mysterious exoticism. Now we just see foreigners as nasty, brutish, and short. Arabia, India, China, wherever, it's just the Global Shithole from whence the bioslurry is disgorged. Knowledge of other countries is no longer a rare and hard-won treasure, but a burden imposed by the necessity of navigating life in the noisy hellhole of the multicultural post-west.

Similar story with travel. Being well travelled was once a mark of distinction, indicating either wealth or an adventurous spirit. Now every foid with a fake email job goes traveling three times a year to "find herself" in Spain or Bali or wherever. Oceans that once carried intrepid explorers now schlep around boomers Spending Kid's Inheritance on package tours. "Travel" is mostly just a consumer lifestyle product now.
