“If you throw one stone, it’s a punishable offence. If 1,000 stones are thrown, it’s political action.
Protest is when I say I don’t agree with something. Resistance is when I ensure that things with which I disagree no longer take place”

Wales faces a climate emergency, housing crisis and poverty. Yet the Welsh Government is co-hosting an arms fair with General Dynamics who supply Israel
We need renewable energy, public transport, homes and public services. Not an expanding arms economy
Welfare, not warfare ✊
Interesting...
Gold and silver are barely moving even though oil is surging.
Investors are realizing the implications of Bessent's yen interventions...
The US can't afford higher rates...
In other words, they can't effectively fight inflation.
We all don't own enough gold.
Warsh will inflate the debt away.
It was clear in February.... and it’s even clearer now.
Back in February, there was speculation about a partnership between Bessent and Warsh to synchronize the Fed’s balance sheet with Treasury financing.
A few months later, Bessent called up Warsh to print USD and provide them to the BoJ so they wouldn’t have to keep dumping USTs.
Both are in favor of yield curve control.
- This means pegging US interest rates at an artificially low level
- The Fed commits to buying enough USTs to keep yields below that cap
This would be reminiscent of the WWII period.
Back then, US debt-to-GDP was at similarly extreme levels. YCC enabled the government to borrow vast amounts without blowing out interest expenses.
Those costs were pushed onto citizens via inflation.
From 1945 to 1980, the US gradually brought debt-to-GDP down to roughly 30%, which later gave Volcker enough room to raise rates toward 20% and crush inflation.
This increasingly looks like Warsh’s and Bessent’s playbook.
The idea that Trump would nominate someone more hawkish than Powell, after attacking Powell for over a year for being too hawkish, was ridiculous to begin with.
Inflating the debt away was always the plan...
Needless to say, hard assets outperform during inflationary periods.
If you can watch only one video to understand current geopolitics, make it this one by George Yeo, one of Singapore's longest-serving cabinet ministers (23 years!)
As Yeo explains, current global geopolitics is fundamentally driven by US "retreat" and "decline", forced by a financial reality that no US administration can reverse: its debt servicing already exceeding its entire defense budget.
To Yeo, this explains why the US insists so much that its "allies" in Europe and Asia spend more of their GDP on defense - to basically pick up the tab for an empire America can no longer afford - but it also means that, inevitably, "once your allies begin to have their own military capabilities, they will think differently, and they will not follow you in everything that you want to do."
As such, American decline becomes self-reinforcing: the more it asks allies to carry their own weight, the less reason they have to follow its lead.
Still, Yeo says that a similar dynamic to one that happened after the fall of Rome could occur where America - like Byzantium did - sheds its empire and consolidates around its own hemisphere, allowing it to remain self-sustaining and powerful for a very long time.
He believes it's the direction things are heading - which would also explain Trump's obsession with Canada and Greenland.
It remains however obviously an open question whether an American "Byzantium strategy" is even achievable: Canada, for one, clearly wants no part of it.

OH MY GOD 🤡
The Israeli Ambassador to the UN started to panic and had to shut down his press conference when a reporter asked why Israel is allowed to have nuclear weapons while no other country in the Middle East is.
🚨🇩🇪 GERMAN REGIME WANTS TO BAN THE MOST POPULAR PARTY!
Panicked establishment politicians are trying to outlaw the AfD because they are winning. They want to cancel 28 percent of voters and destroy democracy to save themselves.
TOTAL DESPERATION!
So here we have the German Chancellor saying that he intends to prevent a democratically elected political party from having any meaningful influence on policy.
Let's be real, that is a strikingly authoritarian attitude for someone claiming to defend democracy.
Elections are apparently only respected when the "right" people win....
Friedrich Merz, right now, is perhaps the most dangerous politician in the world.
An utterly failed populist -currently the most unpopular head of state in the world- with absolutely zero sense of responsibility, shamelessly and proudly raising his unpopularity whenever he opens his mouth in a country faced with rapid economic and social decline due to its unhinged support for the catastrophic US and Israeli wars and the political rise of literal Nazis, Friedrich Merz seems to have found a way out of his misery by playing the Netanyahu handbook -only this time, against a nuclear superpower.
And with zero support from the US.
This depraved Blackrock lobbyist is a danger to world peace.
.@AndyBurnham went on trip to Israel in January 2004, paid for by Labour Friends of Israel (front for Israeli embassy in London) and Israeli Foreign Ministry
The chair of LFI at time was James Purnell, who is now PM Burnham's chief of staff
The lobby has whole thing sewn up
The media is so in bed with Israel that NBC News ain't even reporting on their own journalists getting their asses beaten up and injured by Israeli settlers!
