Degradation behaviour of pre-emergence herbicides in a rice-mustard cropping system: Impact of tillage and residue management
https://t.co/1gNFPy3XaF
Conservation tillage practices can enhance herbicide degradation dynamics.
Mounted on combines, seed impact mills grind weed seeds at harvest, giving farmers a new way to fight herbicide-resistant weeds and reduce seed banks over time. https://t.co/jy0bxjQIVc

Another weed in our rice fields: Ludwigia procumbens
Weed diversity in puddled fields is increasing. Along with Echinochloa, Caesulia, Eclipta, Sphenochlea, Cyperus, Fimbristylis (in late 90s),
now we have Leptochloa, Ludwigia, Lindernia, Scirpus, Sagittaria as well.

Cover crop benefits are tied to cover crop biomass, but how much biomass do you need? Generally, more biomass is better, but thresholds differ for erosion control, soil benefits, and weed suppression.

Yesterday I posted about how DOGE firing a bunch of public AG scientists was bad, and a lot of people seem to think there is no value in Public AG research.
"If public research was valuable then they wouldn't need funding because it would be making money".
Here is a thread.
