As @MehekCooke writes, farmers aren't asking Washington to set prices. They're asking for answers. If you're a farmer or ag retailer, share what you know. Investigators need evidence, and you have it. https://t.co/KAcIzRk0zE
Washington just discovered a radical idea: check the receipt.
Fertilizer barriers came down. Farmers’ bills didn’t. Now the FTC is asking why.
Farmers don’t want price controls. They want answers. My latest for @NEWSMAX:

Missouri Corn grower-leaders joined fellow farmers in Iowa last week to provide USDA and FTC officials with firsthand testimony for the current fertilizer investigation. The response: keep sharing your individual stories to help strengthen the case. The market should be based on competition, not collusion.
Now is the time to speak up. Your experience could help identify practices affecting fertilizer prices. It takes about three minutes to submit confidential information through https://t.co/RrZbUcgi3n.
We appreciated the chance to hear from & visit with @DepSecVaden last week in Iowa. Farmers are FED UP with fertilizer prices squeezing the family farm.
Last week in Iowa, I was clear that antitrust laws are to be enforced in this country and that farmers should depend on the price quoted being a result of competition and not collusion. I was honored to join the "Fed Up" hearing, and stand ready to continue engaging to ensure free and fair markets for fertilizer and other critical inputs.
If you have information about anticompetitive practices in the fertilizer market, please visit ⬇️ website for information on how you can report that evidence.

ExxonMobil reported $14.5 BILLION in quarterly profit—more than double last year. High diesel prices raise the cost of producing, hauling and processing beef—and nearly everything else Americans buy. Yet @POTUS keeps blaming cattle producers for high beef prices,
After addressing growers, Deputy Secretary Vaden heard testimony from growers about the challenges they’re facing on the farm with high fertilizer prices and with securing fertilizer for the upcoming season.
Vaden also encouraged growers to confidentially submit information they have regarding unfair practices at https://t.co/VoxpopEvkC.
When 170 farmers from 13 states show up, you’d better pay attention. 🌽
Ogden, Iowa was the meeting ground today, but the message goes far beyond state lines: farmers are FED UP with the fertilizer industry.

Farmers across the country have gathered together today to take action against the fertilizer industry. @USDA@DepSecVaden is in Ogden, IA to listen to farmers and help fight the fertilizer cartel.
Thank you to @USDAgov@DepSecVaden for highlighting the need for greater competition in the fertilizer industry. This is an important step toward ensuring the marketplace works for family farmers.
South Dakota corn farmers joined farmers and agricultural leaders from across the country in Iowa for Fed Up: Fertilizer Cartel Profits on Farmers’ Backs.
The event featured remarks from Deputy Secretary Vaden, followed by a listening session focused on fertilizer competition and the challenges facing farmers.

A new study by @NationalCorn found:
-U.S. corn seed prices averaged 68% higher than Brazil’s
-Insecticide prices averaged 87% higher
-Some fungicides cost more than double what Brazilian farmers paid
-Many herbicide comparisons also approached double Brazilian price levels
For NCGA President Jed Bower, an Ohio farmer, the findings confirm concerns many growers have held for years: “It sure doesn’t look like we’re the low-cost producer anymore,” Bower says. “The study shows the American farmer is really paying for all the innovation and research for the rest of the world to take advantage of.”

The FTC is listening, but they need to hear from farmers.
We raised the alarm. Now it's your turn.
If you've experienced anti-competitive practices involving agricultural inputs, speak up. Your voice matters, and there are protections in place for those who come forward.

Yesterday, @POTUS delivered another victory for the American farmer. Lifting the CVD on Moroccan phosphate means immediate relief and a continued source of supply for this irreplaceable input. Thank you, President Trump, for always having the backs of farmers and rural communities.
