@sarahjarosz Hey Sarah - My wife and I will be in Asheville on May 10 for our 20 year anniversary. Was hoping to take her to your show at the Grey Eagle, but it sold out before I could get tix. Any chance more tix will become available? Thanks and congrats on the new record.
@bshelburne Close second is the post release lunch. I love seeing how happy people are when they get to eat something they’ve been thinking about for years. One day I want to write a story just about these meals.
It's official. Artis Whitehead, who has served 20 years behind bars for a kidnapping and attempted robbery at B.B. King's Blues Club in 2001, was declared innocent today. His conviction, a judge ruled, involved multiple ethical and Brady violations. https://t.co/6G2bCTYr1w
@jemelehill Put aside the ignorance of his message for a sec, I genuinely feel bad for people who are so sad and angry that they feel compelled to send such a hateful message to a person they don’t know.
Artis Whitehead will be a free man later today after a judge overturned his conviction for a 2001 robbery at B.B. King’s. He has maintained his innocence since his arrest, and will be legally deemed innocent since the DA’s office will not re-try the case. https://t.co/RbitIG9tJ4
Wayne Burgess walked out of prison earlier this year after serving close to 25 years for a murder he did not commit. I’m grateful to Carlos for sharing his story on his podcast. Check it out to learn more about Wayne’s case and exoneration.

@amandaknox Assume people are wrongfully convicted 3% of the time (that’s a pretty conservative estimate). There are 30,000 people locked up in my state of TN. That’s 900 innocent people locked up in TN alone.
