@RaphaelCormack yeah, very interesting. I think Ikhwan at their early stage did not have a very clear line on many things. They just liked Tantawi Gohary a lot, he was an elderly excentric for them :)
@RaphaelCormack If I’m not mistaken, he was the editor in chief in the early Muslim Brotherhood press, and was writing long editorials illustrated with pictures of plants. I always thought he was drawn to biology, never suspected his interest in spiritualism.
Thread re: Belarusian Tatars and Language politics. Tatars who settled in 14th/15th c in Grand Duchy of Lithuania developed in the 16th c an Arabic script for Belarusian language (called Kitab), one of 3 scripts (w/ Cyrillic and Latin) of the Belarusian language.
