Today marks one year since Minnesota House Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark Hortman, were shot and killed alongside their dog in a politically motivated assassination. MN State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette Hoffman, were also shot and injured by the gunman.

Political violence is never acceptable, and we’ll always work to honor Melissa and Mark by combatting armed extremism.

It was an important reminder that love is stronger than hate. And that together, we can build a future where we are all safe to love free from gun violence.
