National security and fairness can coexist.
Individual assessments matter. A conscript’s actual role, choices, and circumstances must count—especially when children’s futures are at stake.

Children don’t understand immigration law. They understand bedtime stories, family dinners, and the comfort of having their parents beside them.
Their childhood deserves protection.

The distinction is simple but important: being ordered to serve is different from choosing to join. IRCC and CBSA should publish transparent guidelines and apply them consistently, considering each person's circumstances and conduct.
