@TRThomas96@dpatt017 “God also said to Moses, "Say this to the people of Israel: Yah, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.' This is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations.”
Exodus 3:15 ESV
@TRThomas96@dpatt017 The name Isaiah is similar, common Hebrew names at the time most of which include Yah’s name so I’m not sure the significance. Who did Moses worship ?
“I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, "I will confess my transgressions to Yah" and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah”
Psalm 32:5
“Return, O Israel, to Yah your God, for you have stumbled because of your iniquity. Take with you words and return to Yah; say to him, "Take away all iniquity; accept what is good, and we will pay with bulls the vows of our lips.”
Hosea 14:1-2
Hebrews 9:22 is a misquote of Leviticus 17:11 which in proper context is a prohibition against consuming blood. It does not say that blood is the only means of atonement.
The OT in Lev 3:17, Deut 12:23,16, and Deut 15:23 commands us not to drink blood‼️
Therefore in John 6:53-56 - why does the Messiah command us to drink his blood, eat his flesh, and break God’s law⁉️
For the longest time I couldn’t understand why Jews didn’t believe in Jesus, I thought their eyes were veiled like the new testament teaches but the more I studied Judaism and what the Hebrew scriptures actually say I understand now why they don’t entertain the nonsense.
@semitic_jew@dpatt017 One is the word of God (Hebrew text) the other is a translation. But if words mean anything no I think it’s a big difference between “kiss the son” and “arm yourself with purity” God’s word cannot be changed or added to, wouldn’t you agree ?
Also if you read the next chapter of Isaiah and not a isolated passage you will see that the sign and prophecy is the birth of Isaiah’s son (no Jesus, no virgin)
“And I went to the prophetess, and she conceived and bore a son. Then the Lord said to me, "Call his name Maher-shalal-hash-baz; for before the boy knows how to cry 'My father' or 'My mother,' the wealth of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria will be carried away before the king of Assyria."” Isaiah 8:3-4 ESV
This one relates more to your New Testament
“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
Isaiah 7:14 ESV
Original Hebrew reads: Therefore, the Lord, of His own, shall give you a sign; behold, the young woman is with child, and she shall bear a son, and she shall call his name Immanuel.
